ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Navy senior goalkeeper
Mac Burke has been named the Corvias Patriot League Men's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week and the NAAA Athlete of the Week for the week ending October 15.
Burke recorded seven saves in Navy's 0-0 double-overtime draw with rival Army West Point in front of over 8,000 fans at Talen Energy Stadium on Sunday in the Army-Navy Cup VI.
Burke made three critical saves in the second overtime period to preserve his second shutout of the season.
Burke made at least seven saves for the third time this season.
He ranks first in the Patriot League and 19th in the NCAA in saves per game this season at 4.85.
Burke was named to the 2017 Preseason All-Patriot League Team.
He is the second Navy men's soccer player to receive a weekly award from the Patriot League this season. Freshman Toni Adewole was named the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 11.
Navy (2-9-2, 0-3-2 PL) will next play at Boston U. (5-7-2, 4-1-0 PL) on Saturday at 5:00 PM.
