"We are very excited to return to the NCAA Championship," said Navy diving coach Rich MacDonald. "Bradley has accomplished so mush this season. He is going to take all the experiences he learned last year and build off them this year. He has worked so hard and really wants to do well. I believe if he stays focused he could do some special things at this meet."

Diving trials will start at 1:15 p.m. Eastern on both days. The consolation finals (those who place ninth through 16th in the trials) will begin shortly after the conclusion of the trials session and the championship finals (first through eighth place in the trials) will be held during the evening's session of championship swimming events that begins at 7 p.m. Eastern.

Buchter is one of 44 entries into the one-meter event and will compete alongside 46 others in the three-meter contest. All divers qualified for the championship with their respective efforts in one of the NCAA Zone Championship meets. Buchter placed third on the three meter and eighth on the one meter at the NCAA Zone A Championship to advance to the NCAA Championship.

This will be the second year in a row in which Buchter will compete at the national championship. He placed 22nd on the one meter, 40th in platform diving and 49th on the three meter last year as a freshman.

Buchter is one of 21 Navy men's divers to qualify for the NCAA Championship and is the seventh Mid to advance to the national meet multiple times in a career. The last to do so was Kevin Teague in 2004 and '06.
