| Box Score 4 CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. –– The Navy doubles team of Derrick Thompson (So., Towson, Md.) and Andrew Ton (Jr., Milpitas, Calif.) advanced to the semifinal round of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Atlantic Regional Championship this weekend in Charlottesville, Va.
 
Thompson and Ton entered the event as the No. 12 seed.  The team won its first two matches by scores of 9-7 and 8-5, then won an 8-1 decision over the No. 7 seed, William & Mary's Joseph Brailovsky and Brenden Volk, to advance to the eight-team quarterfinal round.  The pair would defeat Old Dominion's 11^th-seeded team of Younes Lalami and Nicola Vidal, 8-2, to reach the semifinal.  There, the run by the Mids would end with a 4-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-5) loss to Liberty's Nicaise Muamba and Deji Thomas-Smith (Liberty), the 14^th-seeded pairing in the tournament.
 
Navy placed an additional tandem into the quarterfinal round of the tournament.  The Jack Dabek (So., Dublin, Ohio) and Greg Durham (Sr., Melbourne Beach, Fla.) duo was seeded 13^th in the draw of 64 teams.  After recording 8-4 wins in the rounds of 64 and 32, the pair defeated Virginia's Christian Alshon and Matthew Lord, the No. 5 seed, by the score of 9-7 in the round of 16.  Dabek and Durham would fall, 8-3, to Old Dominion's Jannick Griesse and Francois Musitelli, which entered play as the top-seeded team.
 
Thompson and Ton also highlighted the efforts of the Mids in singles.  Both players were seeded –– Ton 17^th and Thompson 21^st –– and received byes through the first two rounds (256, 128) into the round of 64.  Thompson would win two matches, including a round of 32 victory over the tournament's No. 12 seed, Jannick Griesse from Old Dominion, to reach the round of 16.  It was there where he lost a 7-6 (7-5), 7-5 match to VCU's Ingio Torre Martin, the No. 6 seed.
 
Ton, meanwhile, won his first match before falling to the event's No. 4 seed, Ryan Goetz from Virginia, in the round of 32.
 
Also reaching the round of 64 through wins were Durham and Gavin Segraves (Fr., Charlottesville, Fla.).  Durham won two matches and Segraves won one match to join Thompson and Ton in the round.
 
Navy's fall slate will continue Nov. 1-3 when it heads to Sarasota, Fla., to compete in the Dick Vitale Clay Court Collegiate Classic.
