CANTER VALLEY, Pa. –– Navy's
Sydney Harrington (So., Fairfax, Va.),
Hannah Montau (So., Germantown, Md.) and
Bradley Buchter (Sr., Hickory, N.C.) received weekly accolades from the Patriot League on Tuesday. Harrington was selected as the league's female swimmer of the week while Montau and Buchter were named the league's divers of the week.
The Mids earned their respective awards after Navy swept league-foes American, Bucknell and Lafayette this weekend in Annapolis.
Harrington placed first overall in the 200 butterfly with her time of 1:59.62 and also won the 200 individual medley with her effort of 2:04.68. She won the former event by 3.79 seconds and the latter by 2.69 seconds. Harrington also swam the butterfly leg on Navy's winning 200 medley relay team.
Montau scored 274.95 points to win the one-meter board by 24.55 points. She would accrue 300.55 points to finish second to teammate
Meghan Gerdes (Jr., Spring, Texas) on the three-meter board by 14.05 points.
Buchter posted a combined margin of victory of almost 200 points in winning the two men's diving events. He tallied 440.15 points to win the one-meter event by 118.45 points and totaled 405.80 points to win the three-meter event by 73.10 points.
The Navy women's swimming will next compete Nov. 22-24 at Liberty, the men's swimming team will compete Nov. 21-23 at Purdue and the diving team will compete Nov. 22-24 at West Virginia.
