Brennan, Tiracave Earn Patriot League Weekly Honors
Navy track and field athletes Sean Brennan (Westfield, N.J.) and Jadyn Tiracave (Ashville, Pa.) earned Male Field Athlete of the Week and Female Rookie of the Week accolades, respectively, as announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.

Brennan competed in the throws for the Midshipmen at the 2019 Virginia Challenge, posting three top-5 finishes at the meet with three IC4A performances. He won the men's hammer throw with a distance of 63.20m (207-04), which ranked ninth in Navy's all-time records. The senior came in second in the discus with a throw of 53.96m (177-00), while claiming fourth in the shot put with a throw of 17.31m (56-09.50). His distances in the discus and the hammer were season bests for the team captain.

Tiracave won the women's javelin at the 2019 Virginia Challenge with an ECAC qualifying distance of 49.19m (161-05). She won the event by 0.60m over teammate Emma Foster (Poteet, Texas). Tiracave's distance of 49.19m set a new Navy record, topping the old mark of 48.98m (160-08) set by Danielle Still back in 2007.
