"It was a tale of two games, but more accurately, two different opponents," head coach
Luis Nicolao said after the game. "Stanford is one of the best in the country and it was good for our guys to see the level that we want to rise to. With Hopkins, it was huge that we came away with a win since that is a conference opponent. We started off slow, trading goals, but rallied late in the second quarter to take control of the game. We have to put these games behind us now and move on to a pair of challenging games tomorrow."

On the day, 11 different players scored at least one goal. Salinas finished the day with a team-high five goals, while Altmayer chipped in four against Johns Hopkins. Clark finished with a hat trick against the Blue Jays and

Max Sandberg (Newport Beach, Calif.) started the first game of the day against the second-best team in the country. The sophomore tallied five saves in the game before Shields entered and notched a pair of stops.
