The 18th-ranked Navy squash team (7-11) will make its Mid-Atlantic Squash Conference (MASC) Championship debut when it meets #12 George Washington (8-8) in the opening round on Friday at 5:45 pm at Squash On Fire in Washington, D.C. Top-seeded Drexel will have an opening-round bye, while three first-round matches will all be played on Friday at either Squash on Fire or at Lerner Health & Wellness Center on the campus of George Washington University. In addition to the #3 George Washington vs. #6 Navy match, #2 Virginia will play #7 Dickinson (5:45 pm) and #4 Franklin & Marshall will battle #5 MIT (8:30 pm).

Navy Notes
• Making the program's first appearance in a conference championship, the Mids are looking for their first win since defeating Middlebury in dominating fashion (8-1) on Jan. 10.
• Jack Lentz leads the team with a 10-7 record and has played the #1 position on the ladder the entire year. His 68.6 career winning percentage (48-22) is the 25th best in school history. Meanwhile, he is just two wins away from joining Navy's 50-wins leader board.
• Millen Randell enters the MASC Championship having earned nine wins, primarily playing the #4 spot (6-8), while Owen Davis, Michael Kacergis, Ben Korn and Ryan York have all won eight matches this season.
• Team captain Michael Kacergis has put together a 58-33 record over four seasons, including an 8-8 mark this year. He is tied with All-American Tucker George (2004-08) for 23rd on the Mids' all-time wins list and is two wins shy of becoming one of just 22 players in program history to reach the 60-win milestone.
• Owen Davis, meanwhile, has turned in a 55-33 career mark and is also 8-8 this season. He is just two wins shy of joining Navy's all-time top 20 list. Michael Beautyman Jr. currently sits 25th with 57 wins from 2005-09.

More On George Washington
• Under the direction of first-year head coach Anderson Good, George Washington has put together an 8-8 record to date.
• The Colonials won five of their first six matches to open the New Year, however, since their 7-2 win over Williams on Jan. 18, they have lost four of their last five.
• GW put together a 2-2 mark against conference foes Dickinson, Navy, Drexel and Virginia during the regular season, however it did not play MIT or Franklin & Marshall.
• Senior Jamie Oakley leads the team in the wins column with an 11-5 record. He has seen action at the #3 spot in 11 of his 16 matches where he has posted a 7-4 record. Meanwhile, Inaki De Larrauri, Salim Khan and Juan Sebastian Laguna have each won nine matches this winter.
• Three different players have occupied the #1 position for the Colonials this season - Mohammad Alterki (2-3), Salim Khan (3-1) and Moustafa Montaser (3-4). Khan was the top player in each of the last two matches where he split against Dickinson (W) and Drexel (L).

• Navy and George Washington will meet for the 31st time in a series that began in 1995.
• The Mids hold a 24-6 advantage, however, the Colonials have won 6 of the last 7 matches which falls in line with when squash was elevated to a varsity program.
• Friday's match will mark just the third time the two programs have met on a neutral court. Those matches were played in 2015 and '16 at the CSA Team Championship in Hartford, Conn. and New Haven, Conn., respectively. The Mids lost both matches, 6-3
• The Mids dropped a 6-3 decision at home against George Washington on Jan. 15. Earning wins for Navy were team captain Michael Kacergis at #3, Ryan York at #5 and Ben Korn at #6.

What's Ahead
• Navy will have nearly three weeks to prepare for the 2020 College Squash Association Team Championship hosted by Harvard on Feb. 28-March 1.
• The following week (March 6-8) is the 2020 CSA Individual Championship held at Penn.
