ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Navy track and field team heads to West Point, N.Y. for the annual Army-Navy Indoor Star Meet as part of the overall Army-Navy Star Series presented by USAA on Saturday, Feb. 13 at Gillis Field House. Competition in America's Meet begins with the field events at 8:00 a.m. with the running events slated for 3:30 p.m. Fans are not permitted at the meet.

Navy, Army West Point
Series
On the men's side, Navy holds a 32-27-2 overall advantage in the overall indoor series, however, the Midshipmen are 11-18 all time in West Point. The women's team is 16-17-1 all-time against the Black Knights in the indoor series with a 7-10 mark in West Point. The last victory in West Point for the men came in 2015, while the women's last win at Army came in 2013.

Jamie Cook is 7-3 all-time in Army-Navy Star Meets with a 3-3 mark in indoor competition. Under Cook, Navy won indoor stars in 2018 and 2020 with the men and 2020 with the women.

Track and Field Tallies Several Weekly Awards (Feb. 10, 2021)
The Navy track and field team had six student-athletes earn weekly awards for their performances at the William & Mary dual meet. Sam Orie (Greensburg, Pa.) was selected as this week's Naval Academy Athletic Association Athlete of the Week, presented by Northrop Grumman.
Clayton Thompson (Corpus Christi, Texas) and Alexa Arthun (Manhattan, Mont.) claimed Patriot League Men's and Women's Track Athlete of the Week, respectively, while
Eli Lake (Blythewood, S.C.) was the PL Men's Field Athlete of the Week.
Brahmir Vick (Middletown, Del.) and Alayna Schloeder (Rockford, Minn.) claimed the Leagues' first Rookie of the Week honors.

The Navy men's and women's track and field team combined for 31 IC4A / ECAC qualifying marks in the season opening dual meet against William & Mary on Friday evening at Wesley A. Brown Field House. The men tallied 17 qualifying standards, while the women registered 13 marks.
In addition to the qualifying standards, the Midshipmen notched three marks that ranked in the program's top 10. Senior captain Sam Orie (Greensburg, Pa.) tied for the second-best performance in school history with a 19.02m (62-05.00) in the weight throw, while Darryl Langford (Fayetteville, Ga.) and Molly Chapman (Leesburg, Va.) tied for the fourth best performance in the high jump with a height of 1.70m (5-07.00).

The Navy track and field team swept the 2020 Army-Navy Indoor Star Meet at Wesley A. Brown Field House in Annapolis, Md.
The men's team won 13 of 17 events to post a 109-71 victory. The Midshipmen recorded maximum points in eight events to cruise to the victory in America's Meet.
On the women's side, Navy posted a 93-80 win. The indoor victory was the first for the Mids since 2014. Navy won eight of the 17 events on the day on the women's side. In addition, the Midshipmen posted five school records – 60m, 200m, 4x400m relay, triple jump, and weight throw – en route to the victory.
