For the men, it was the ninth consecutive outdoor victory in the series for Navy, while the women claimed their sixth consecutive outdoor Star.

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Navy track and field team posted a sweep of the 2021 Army-Navy Outdoor Star Meet, which is part of the overall Army-Navy Star Series presented by USAA. The men's team opened the day with a 103-100 victory, while the women's team claimed a 111.5-88.5 win. For the men, it was the ninth consecutive outdoor victory in the series for Navy, while the women claimed their sixth consecutive outdoor Star.

"I am really impressed by our group and our coaching staff," Director of Navy Track and Field Jamie Cook said following the meets. "Twenty-three days off was hard to overcome, but we have a resilient bunch. We control what we can control. Things we talk about are our effort and our attitude, and being competitive when you need to be competitive. We found a way and we were very fortunate to have a good day today."

On the men's side, Navy won nine of the 19 events, while earning maximum points in five events. The women's team won 12 events, including max points in seven events. In addition, the Mids set a pair of school records, while notching five additional performances that rank in the program's all-time top 10.

Senior captain Clayton Thompson (Corpus Christi, Texas) tied his own school record in the 110m hurdles with a time of 13.98 to finish first in the event. In the javelin, Emma Foster (Poteet, Texas) registered a school-record distance of 51.97m (170-06) to break her previous mark by 2.49m.

Jessica Nangle (South Hampton, Pa.) clocked a time of 16.56.56 in 5,000m, which is fourth best in program history, while the Navy women's 4x400m relay team posted the eighth best performance in school history with a time of 3:46.88.
