Junior Nicholas Klock (Moraga, Calif.) was one of just five student-athletes named to the 2021 Academic All-Patriot League Men's Golf Team it was announced by the league office on Tuesday. Klock is the fourth different Navy golfer (Peter Reilly 2011, '12 / Chris House 2013, '14 / Connor Tallman 2016, '17) to earn the citation, while a Navy golfer has been honored seven times since the award was established in 2011.

A standout in the classroom, Klock owns a 3.58 grade-point average as History (honors) major and has been recognized three times on both the Commandant's and Dean's Lists.

The three-year letter winner produced a 74.00 stroke average this season, opening the year with a sixth-place showing in a dual against Towson where he shot 3-over on the Mids' newly-restored Naval Academy Golf Course. In the spring, he participated in four match-play events, including a dual against Richmond where his 3 and 2 victory over Ben Cooper helped lead Navy to a 5-4 win over the Spiders. In the annual Star Match, he scored a 1-up victory over Army's Gary Bullard, while teaming up with senior Ward Wilkinson to halve their point against James McKee and Sam McGee in the four-ball competition. He closed out the spring earning Second-Team All-Patriot League recognition after tying for ninth (out of 48) at the conference championship with his 13-over par 223 (75-72-76).

Four of the eight Patriot League institutions sponsoring varsity golf programs were represented on the academic team with Lafayette placing two on the team, while Lehigh, Loyola and Navy accounted for the remaining three. Meanwhile, four of the five student-athletes garnered All-Patriot League recognition this spring.

To be eligible for the Scholar-Athlete of the Year award and the Academic All-Patriot League Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade-point average and be a starter or key player in his sport. Freshmen or students in their first academic year at their school are not eligible for the honor.
