Cook Named USTFCCCA Mid-Atlantic Region Men’s Coach of the Year

The Midshipmen were undefeated in 2021, defeating Army, while also winning Patriot League Outdoor Championship, and IC4A Outdoor Championship.

NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Association (USTFCCCA) announced on Friday afternoon its regional athletes and coaches of the year for the 2021 NCAA Division I outdoor track and field season and Navy Director of Track and Field Jamie Cook was selected as the Mid-Atlantic Region Men's Coach of the Year.

It is the fourth USTFCCA Mid-Atlantic Coach of the Year accolade and the third outdoor men's coaching honor for Cook since taking over the reins as the Director of Navy Track and Field. Cook, in his fourth year with the Midshipmen, was tabbed Regional Coach of the Year for men's outdoor in 2018 and 2019, while claiming women's indoor recognition earlier this year (2021).

The Midshipmen were undefeated in 2021, defeating rival Army (W, 103-100), while also winning Patriot League Outdoor Championship (298 points), and IC4A Outdoor Championship (third straight).

The Navy track and field teams swept the IC4A and ECAC Outdoor Champs for first time in program history, while sweeping the Patriot League men's and women's titles for the third consecutive season. Cook was named 2021 Patriot League Coach of the Year for both the men's and women's squads. He directed 16 student-athletes (11 men / 5 women) to qualify for NCAA East Preliminaries.
