BRIDGEPORT, Pa. – The Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) officially announced its Fall 2020/Winter 2021 ACWPC Men's All-Academic teams with a total of 474 student-athletes, including 14 Midshipmen, earning academic recognition.
In addition, a total of 34 schools, including Navy (3.08), posted Team Honors for achieving GPAs over 3.00.
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete's head coach must be a member of the ACWPC, while the athlete must attain a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher. Divided into three teams based on cumulative grade point average (GPA), 156 athletes garnered Outstanding (4.00-3.71), 198 Superior (3.70-3.41) and 120 Excellent (3.40-3.20) recognition from 41 teams.
Jake Altmayer (Pasadena, Calif.),
Caden Capobianco (Laguna Beach, Calif.),
Jamie Cassidy (Greenwich, Conn.),
Kyle Faison (Goleta, Calif.),
Peter Hillen (Orinda, Calif.),
Graham Lindner (Bel Air, Md.), and
Kenny McKinlay (Aiea, Hawaii) led Navy as members of the Outstanding ranks, while
Jesse Hainze (Bellevue, Wash.) was named to the Superior team.
Jordan Corpuz (Glendale, Calif.),
Nathan Duchez (San Jose, Calif.),
Cole Jacobs (Naperville, Ill.),
Max Sandberg (Newport Beach, Calif.),
Andrew Shashin (Buffalo Grove, Ill.), and
Bobby Wall (San Mateo, Calif.) rounded out the Midshipmen on the list on the Excellent team.
The 14 accolades extend the program's stretch of four or more individuals on ACWPC All-Academic Teams dating back to 2005.
