ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Navy offshore sailing team wrapped up the weekend competing at three regattas in Annapolis, closing out its October slate.

The Midshipmen finished third out of 10 teams in the McMillan Cup. After no racing on Saturday due to lack of wind, Sunday's conditions were much improved and four races were held. Navy's crew was led by senior skipper Joey Zaladonis and included seniors
Virendra Ghate, Jon Middlebrooks and Jackson Dupaix, juniors Javi Jiminez-Kane,
Renee Bonner and
Logan Hewitt and sophomore Elliott Brandicourt, as the crew posted scores of 5-2-5-3 to finish seven points behind second-place Merchant Marine Academy and nine points behind overall winner Rhode Island.

In the J/105 Chesapeake Bay Championships, the Mids had three crews competing in the 24-boat fleet. Similar to the McMillan Cup, four races were held Sunday following no racing on Saturday, as Navy's best-finishing team was the crew of
Dreadnought led by junior Pat Fisher. Taking 17th place, Fisher's crew included junior
Kit Oney and sophomores Nick Gibbons,
Luke Moore,
Austin Nolan and
Jack Ubert. Junior skipper
Frank Carter guided the
Constellation crew to 20th and junior skipper
Nate Bramwell's team aboard
Avenger finished in 24th.

Additionally, an all-freshman crew for Navy managed to place first in the JV Keelboat Invitational Regatta.

 Next up for Navy is the Kennedy Cup on November 5-6.
