BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Coming off of a strong performance at the Patriot League Championship regatta on May 13, the Navy women's rowing team was honored with two All-Patriot League selections on Thursday. Junior
Millie Oldham (Nashville, Tenn.) earned a nod on the first team, while sophomore
Lauren Day (Seattle, Wash.) was named to the second team.
Both honorees were members of Navy's first varsity eight crew that came in third at the league championship last Friday. After posting a time of 7:07.110 in its morning qualifying heat, the Mids came out in the afternoon and found themselves in a fight for second place with the Boston University Terriers. Tight throughout most of the 2,000-meter race, Boston held off Navy for second place with a 2.06-second margin of separation, 6:57.15 to 6:59.21. Oldham raced that day from the six-seat, while Day was in the three-seat.
Oldham is now a two-time All-Patriot League First Team honoree as she was recognized last spring for her efforts in the Mids' V8 crew. The All-Patriot League Second Team award is the second in two years for Day as she was also acknowledged for her work with the Navy V8 in 2021.
The All-League teams are based on the team's finish in the Varsity Eight Grand Final from the Patriot League Rowing Championship, which was held on Friday, May 13 on the Cooper River in New Jersey.
