ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Sophomore
Braden Presser (Liberty, Mo.) will compete in the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship in the javelin on Wednesday, June 8, at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. The men's javelin competition will take place at 8:45 p.m. (ET).

With the top 12 advancing to the Nationals, Presser punched his ticket to the NCAA Outdoor Championship with a sixth-place finish in the javelin. In his second NCAA East Preliminaries, Presser registered a distance of 72.17m (236-09) to move on to the Championship. The distance was the third best in Navy history and the second-best for the sophomore this year.
Presser qualified for the Regionals in the second outdoor meet of the season, posting a throw of 73.55m (241-03) – second-best distance in program history – at Ross and Sharon Irwin Meet in San Diego. The sophomore added three more all-time top 10 performances in Navy history throughout the season. He notched the third-best throw in school history at the NCAA East Preliminaries to advance to Nationals, while posting the fourth-best performance (71.99m / 236-02) in a first-place finish against Army. Presser finished second at the Penn Relays with a throw of 70.84m (232-05), which ranks ninth in program history.
Presser is the third javelin thrower in the
Jamie Cook era to advance to Nationals, joining Sean Richards (2018) and
Hayden Fox (2019).
