ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Navy women's golf standout Mara picked up her second award in a two-day span, as the senior captain was named the Patriot League Golfer of the Week on Wednesday.

Hirtle adds the honor after previously being named the Naval Academy Athletic Association's Athlete of the Week on Tuesday.

A strong Sunday performance from Hirtle at the Navy Fall Invitational earned her individual medalist honors as well as help the Mids maintain their lead from Saturday and capture the team title. After beginning the tournament with a round of 75 to sit tied for seventh, Hirtle shot a tournament-low 71 over the final 18 holes to climb past five other golfers and take first place on the player leaderboard with a weekend score of 2-over par 146, one stroke better than tournament runner-up Madison Barber of Towson.

On the season, Hirtle has a scoring average of 74.00 to pace the team, posting two rounds of par-or-lower across three events. For her career, Hirtle sits second in program history with a 76.54 scoring average.

This marks Hirtle's first time winning the league's weekly honor this season, bringing her career total to a program-best Patriot League Women's Golfer of the Week accolades.

Navy returns to action when
Stephanie Lee heads to Dallas, Texas on Oct. 9-10 to represent Navy in the 2023 Jackson T. Stephens Cup at Trinity Forest Golf Club.
