ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Navy men's soccer senior
David Jackson picked up more accolades on Thursday, as the midfielder was named to the All-Eastern College Athletic Conference First Team.
Â
The back-to-back Patriot League Midfielder of the Year, Jackson filled up the scoresheet this season, as his 23 points were tied for the league lead at the conclusion of the regular season, while his nine goals and five assists both ranked second in the Patriot League entering the postseason. His 23 points and nine goals were also the most by a Mid since Jamie Dubyoski posted a nine-goal, 23-point campaign in 2014. Additionally, the senior scored his first collegiate brace in the Aug. 28 win against VMI and immediately followed that by becoming the first Navy player to tally three assists in a game since Michael Paisant in 2000.
Â
A four-time All-Patriot League pick and the league's 2020-21 Rookie of the Year, Jackson collected 61 career points (22 goals, 17 assists) in 61 games played, including eight game-winning goals.
Â
This marks the second-straight season that Jackson has earned All-ECAC First Team honors and the third-consecutive season a Navy player has made the organization's All-Star First Team. Jackson also becomes only the second player in program history to make the All-ECAC First Team twice, joining Joseph Greenspan (2013-2014).
