ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Navy sprint football team (5-1, 2-0 in the CSFL South) travels to West Caldwell, N.J. for a Collegiate Sprint Football League South Division game at Caldwell (3-3, 0-2 in the CSFL South) on Saturday evening at 6:00 p.m. at Bonnel Field.

All-Time Series
Navy holds the all-time series lead against Caldwell, 5-0 (1.000). The Midshipmen are 2-0 all-time against the Cougars in Annapolis with a 3-0 mark in West Caldwell, N.J.
The Mids opened the series winning the first meeting between the two teams, 72-0, in Annapolis in 2017. The next three games were in West Caldwell, N.J. with Navy claiming three victories – W, 45-14 in 2018; W, 23-10 in 2019; and W, 26-13 in 2022. Last season, the Midshipmen posted a 35-19 win over the Cougars at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.
Scouting the Midshipmen
Navy enters the contest 5-1 overall with a 2-0 mark in the South Division. The Midshipmen defeated Penn, 31-0, on Friday, Nov. 1 to secure a spot in the Collegiate Sprint Football League Championship on Saturday, Nov. 16 against Army in West Point, N.Y.
Navy has outscored its opponents 165-53. The Mids have amassed 2,335 total yards of offense, including 1,486 yards rushing and 849 passing yards. The Midshipmen defense has held its opponents to 1,221 total yards with 534 rushing yards and 687 passing yards, while posting three shutouts.
Hunter Gennicks leads the Midshipmen with 682 total yards rushing and a team-high 10 touchdowns. Quarterback
Luke Wagner has added 300 yards on the ground with two rushing TDs. Through the air, Wagner is 59-for-109 passing for 763 yards and three touchdowns.
Chris Stumpf and
Biamungu Nkere lead the team with 17 and 14 receptions for 327 and 184 yards, respectively. Stumpf has a team-high two touchdown receptions with
Jake Berger adding a TD catch.
Defensively, the Midshipmen have 13 players with double digit tackles.
Jake Wolinski leads the team with 44 stops, including 3.5 tackles for loss.

Major Kent,
Mick Tabor, and
David Niski follow with 26, 23, 22, and 21 tackles, respectively. Niski leads the team with 7.0 tackles for loss with Burger (4.5), Wolinski (3.5), Kent (3.5),
Jonathan Swift (3.0), and
Connor Miltenberger (3.0) just behind. The Mids have had nine different players intercept a pass with
Seamas Carrasco leading the team with a pair of interceptions. As a team, Navy has 39.0 tackles for loss, 13.0 sacks, 12 pass breakups, 10 interceptions, three quarterback hurries and two forced fumbles.
Jacori Sutton is second on the team with 37 total points. He has made seven field goals, including a season-long 34-yard FG against Penn, while adding 16 extra points on the year.
Scouting the Opponent
Caldwell enters the game with a 3-3 overall record and an 0-2 mark in the South Division. The Cougars have victories against Molloy (W, 48-0), Mansfield (W, 28-21), and St. Thomas Aquinas (W, 42-8) with losses to Chestnut Hill (L, 28-6), Army (L, 56-12), and Penn (L, 24-14). The game against Navy will serve as Senior Day for Caldwell.
Josh Smith leads the Cougars with 430 yards rushing, while Curtis McDougald is second with 293 yards on the ground. The duo each have a team-high five rushing touchdowns to their credit. Through the air, Smith has 610 passing yards, going 56-for-110 with six passing touchdowns and four interceptions. Arjun Petgrave is Smith's primary target hauling in a team-high 22 receptions for a team-best 348 yards with five TD grabs.
Defensively, Damian Tavares and Amajuwan Murray are 1-2 among the Cougars in tackles with 56 and 52. Tavares has 4.5 tackles for loss, including a pair of sacks, while Murray has 5.0 TFLs. Kyle Readus leads Caldwell with four interceptions and five pass breakups.

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Navy registered a 31-0 shutout over Penn in a CSFL South Division game at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. With the win, the Mids secured a spot in the CSFL Championship game on Saturday, Nov. 16 in West Point, N.Y.

Navy finished the game with 437 yards of total offense, while holding Penn to 42 total yards. The Midshipmen passed for 286 yards and two touchdowns, while rushing for 151 yards and a score.
Senior offensive captain
Luke Wagner finished the game 16-for-26 for 285 passing yards and a pair of touchdowns. His primary target was fellow senior
Chris Stumpf, who finished the game with a team-high seven receptions for 168 yards and a score.
Ibi Denson added 57 receiving yards on four receptions with
Biamungu Nkere added 39 yards on a pair of catches.
Jake Berger made his one reception count, pulling down a seven-yard touchdown reception.
Hunter Gennicks led the team with 135 rushing with a pair of touchdowns.
Defensively, the Mids held the Quakers scoreless, limiting the previously undefeated team to 42 total yards of offense. The Navy defense held the Penn offense to -4 yards rushing and 46 yards passing. The Mids finished the game with 9.0 tackles for loss, including 6.0 sacks, while adding four pass breakups.
Sam Stotler led the team with nine tackles, including a sack, while
Jake Wolinski and
Mick Tabor added seven stops apiece. Tabor added 2.0 tackles for loss, including a sack, while
David Niski led the team with 2.5 sacks.
Simon Burger and
Major Kent each added 1.5 TFLs with Burger finishing with a sack and Kent combining for a QB sack.
Andrew Bailey also added a half a tackle for loss in the game.
