ANNAPOLIS, Md. – In addition to earning Academic All-Patriot League honors for the third-straight season, Navy senior
Stephanie Lee was named the 2024 Patriot League Women's Golf Scholar-Athlete of the Year, the league office announced Friday.
Lee, the individual medalist at the 2024 Patriot League Championship, becomes the second golfer in program history to take home the league's Scholar-Athlete of the Year award after Morgan Frazier in 2018. The Southlake, Texas native also becomes the second Midshipman to be selected to the Academic All-Patriot League Team three times, joining Renata Bucher (2014-16).
Culminating with her first-place performance (8-over par 218) at the Patriot League Championship that helped Navy take home its second league title in program history, Lee has posted a 76.96 scoring average this season and earned a trio of top-10 finishes by placing 10th at the Bucknell Invitational and earning fifth place at the Navy Fall Invitational.
For her career, Lee has earned All-Patriot League First Team distinction twice and Second-Team honors once, as the senior sits fourth in program history with a 77.18 scoring average. Also tied for second with 13 top-10 placings over her four campaigns, she holds the school records for all-time low round and lowest 36-hole score after shooting a 5-under par 67 in the final round and a 4-under par 140 overall at the 2023 Navy Spring Invitational. In the classroom, Lee holds a 3.71 GPA while majoring in operations research and has been service-assigned submarine warfare following commissioning later this month. In addition to her aforementioned Academic All-Patriot League honors, the senior is a three-time Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) Scholar All-American (2021, 2022, 2023) and has been named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll twice.
Lee and the Mids continue their season May 6-8 when they head to the NCAA Bermuda Run Regional in Winston-Salem, N.C.
