ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Navy men's soccer head coach
Tim O'Donohue announced the team's full schedule for the upcoming 2024 season on Thursday, as the Midshipmen prepare for a 16-game regular-season slate.
Highlighted by nine home contests overall, the fall schedule will see Navy on its home pitch for four of its first six matches, with some familiar non-conference opponents traveling to Annapolis. Beginning Patriot League play on Sept. 14, the Mids will then play a nine-game conference slate as they seek their fourth-straight appearance in the league tournament.
The 104th campaign of Navy Soccer begins on Thursday, Aug. 22 when the Mids host George Mason in a 7 p.m. matchup at Glenn Warner Soccer Facility. Navy will wrap up the opening weekend of the season with a trip to Stonehill on Sunday, Aug. 25, marking the first all-time meeting between the teams.
Returning home for a pair of 7 p.m. contests, the Mids will battle FDU (Aug. 30) and Niagara (Sept. 2) before making the trek to Longwood for a road game on Saturday, Sept. 7, then turning around to welcome George Washington to town for a 7 p.m. start on Tuesday, Sept. 10.
Traveling to Bucknell for its Patriot League opener on Saturday, Sept. 14, Navy stays on the road the following Saturday to play at Lafayette on Sept. 21.
The Mids' final non-conference match of the season kicks off a three-game homestand on Tuesday, Sept. 24, as Navy hosts UC San Diego at 7 p.m., the first all-time meeting between the programs. Navy continues the homestand four days later when it plays league foe Colgate in a 1 p.m. start on Saturday, Sept. 28 and closes the home stretch on Saturday, Oct. 5 when the Mids host regional league rival Loyola at 1 p.m.
Renewing their historic rivalry, the Mids and Black Knights will square off in Army-Navy Cup XIII on Friday, Oct. 11 from Subaru Park in Chester, Pa., with game time set for 7 p.m. at the home of the Philadelphia Union.
The stretch run of the campaign will start on Sunday, Oct. 20 when the Mids make the long hike to Holy Cross, followed by a trip to Lehigh a week later on Saturday, Oct. 26. Coming home to finish out the regular season, Navy hosts Boston University on Friday, Nov. 1 before welcoming American to Annapolis on Tuesday, Nov. 5 for the regular-season finale, with both matches slated for a 7 p.m. first kick.
The Patriot League Tournament is set to begin on Nov. 9 with the quarterfinal round, while the league semifinals will be played on Nov. 12 and the Patriot League Championship set for Nov. 16.
