ANNAPOLIS, Md. – A pair of stars are on the line as the Navy track and field team (0-1) visits rival Army (0-0) on Saturday, Feb. 1 at Gillis Field House in West Point, N.Y., in the annual Army-Navy Indoor Star Meet as part of the overall Army-Navy Star Series presented by USAA. The meet begins with the men's weight throw at 11:00 a.m., while the men's mile kicks off the running events at 12:45 p.m.

Meet Scoring
Scoring is 5-3-2-1 for individual events and 5-3 for relays. Two athletes from each team will score per individual event. There are 181 total points up for grabs through 15 individual events and two relays, first team to 91 points wins the meet.Â
Army-Navy Series
The men's team leads the all-time indoor star series 36-27-2 and has won 10 of the past 12 meetings. The Mids won last year's indoor meeting by a score of 103-78
The women's team leads 20-17-1 in the all-time series and has won the previous five duals. Army holds a 28-22 advantage when competing in West Point. In last season's matchup, the Midshipmen claimed their fifth-straight star by a score of 99-82.Â
Since the arrival of director of track and field / cross country Jamie Cook in 2017, Navy is 23-3 against Army and has won 20-consecutive star meets.Â

Men's Recap: Navy 103, Army 78
The men's team claimed its fifth-consecutive victory over Army in the annual Indoor Star Meet in Annapolis last season. The Mids placed first in 10 of the 17 events and earned the maximum points (eight) in four to beat the Black Knights by 25. Navy has beaten Army by at least 21 points in its last five wins in the indoor series.
Navy won four of the six field events (pole vault, triple jump, shot put and weight throw). Joshua Boamah led the way with a school record in the shot put (18.71m / 61' 4.75") and weight throw (21.12m / 69' 3.5"). The Mids swept the triple jump event when Jordan Payne (14.59m / 47' 10.5") and Sebasteon Allen (14.42m / 47' 3.75") placed first and second, respectively, to score a combined eight points. Walker Rudisaile garnered a first-place finish in the pole vault with a height of 5.05m (16' 6.75") to score five points.
Navy was victorious in six track events, highlighted by Brahmir Vick's performance breaking the Navy, meet and Patriot League record in the 60m hurdles with a time of 7.74. Vick also posted the fifth-fastest time in the 60m dash of 6.83 to win the event.Â
Nathan Kent also compiled 10 points with victories in the 200m (21.22) and 400m (47.45). Kent's 200m time broke the meet record by .10 seconds that was set by Army's Kedrin Jefferson in 2020. Additionally, his 200m finish ranks fourth all-time in team history. Max points were earned in the mile when Sam Keeny clocked a time of 4:04.50 followed by Luke Nester with a time of 4:05.79. Murphy Smith clocked in a time of 8:08.32 to win the 3,000m.
Women's Recap: Navy 99, Army 82
The women's team defeated Army for the fifth-straight season by a score of 99-82. The Mids won 10 of the 17 events and earned the maximum points (eight) in three to improve to 20-17-1 in the indoor series.
Jia Anderson highlighted the meet with three school records to score 13 points. She began the dual by breaking her own school and meet record in the 60m hurdles with a winning time of 8.36. Her finish was .05 seconds faster than her previous program record that she posted at the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational last season. Additionally, she bested her meet-record time by .13 seconds, which she recorded at last year's Indoor Star Meet (8.49). Â She then won the 60m by breaking the school record with a time of 7.53. She finished .03 seconds faster than the previous record set by Regine Tugade (7.56) in 2020. Anderson's final program record came in the 200m. She placed second overall in the race with a time of 24.18. Anderson beat the previous record by .07 seconds, which her former teammate, Molly Mangan (24.25), posted at the 2023 Patriot League Championship.
Navy won three field events led by Alayna Schloeder winning the pole vault with a height of 4.01m (13' 1.75"). Her mark broke the meet record by .01m, which was recorded by Charlene Morke in 2022. Schloeder's height is also tied for the third-best mark in school history with Stephanie Jacobs. The Mids also earned the maximum points in the triple jump. Sami Bollinger won the event with a jump of 12.01m (39' 5"). Giulia Mesa posted a second-place finish with a mark of 11.77m (38' 7.5"). Hannah Lowenstein won the high jump with a height of 1.71m (5' 7.25"), which is tied for ninth all-time in Navy history.
Scouting Army
The Black Knights will be competing in their first dual match this season on Saturday. Most recently, Army competed at the Dr. Sander Invitational hosted by Columbia last Friday and Saturday.Â
Two Black Knight athletes earned Patriot League Track and Field Weekly Honors this past week. Middle distance runner Kasen Jeitz garnered Men's Track Athlete of the Week. Jeitz logged a league best 800m time of 1:50.08 to finish third at the Dr. Sander Scorher Invitational. His mark leads the Patriot league.
Emily Fink received the Women's Field Athlete of the Week with her performance at the Dr. Sander Scorher Invitational . She won the shot put with a mark of 16.82m (55' 2.25") which marked as the best throw in program history and top in the Patriot League this season.Â
