ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Navy offshore sailing team played host this past weekend for its annual Small Keelboat Regatta, highlighted by freshman
Henry Bushey leading his crew to a first-place victory Saturday and Sunday in Annapolis.
Â
Ten teams competed in the event held on Colgates over two days on the Severn River, as light breezes dominated the conditions all weekend to make the racing extremely challenging. At the end of the five-race series, skipper Bushey and his crew of sophomores
Dathyn Paxton and
Zev Benjamin and freshman
Tyler Del Ciotto bested the fleet, narrowly edging out teams from Tennessee and Penn State Behrend.
Â
Navy's two other teams, skippered by sophomores
Mitchell Krueger and
Wyatt Thorleifson, placed fourth and fifth in the regatta.

Navy concludes the fall slate on Nov. 1-2 with the Kennedy Cup in Annapolis, competing for college sailing's national big-boat championship.
