ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Naval Academy Athletic Association (NAAA) announced that senior Parker Haydin of rifle and senior Justin Mumford of men's cross country have been named Co-Athletes of the Week. Haydin led the rifle team to a victory in the President's Trophy Match for the first time since 2008, while Mumford was the individual medalist at the Patriot League Cross Country Championships, leading the Midshipmen to their fifth straight team title.
 
Parker Hayden led the way for the Midshipmen, helping Navy claim the President's Trophy Match for the first time in 17 years. Led by Haydin, the Mids recorded 5891 total points to defeat their service academy counterparts. Additionally, Navy's win snapped Air Force's streak of 11 consecutive victories in the event. The senior shot a season-high aggregate score of 1186 to pace to finish atop the podium. Haydin started the day by with a team-high 588 in smallbore to lead all shooters through the first relay. He finished second to teammate Tyler Wee in air rifle, tying a career-best with a 598.
 
Led by Mumford's first-place finish, the Mids placed five and claimed their fifth straight Patriot League Championship team title with a team-low score of 28 in the 8K race to win the event by 30 points. Mumford won the men's race to collect Patriot League Men's Outstanding Performer of the Meet, marking the third consecutive season the Mids claimed the individual title (Murphy Smith won in 2023 and 2024). The senior took individual medalist honors with a time of 23:59.0 to lead a team of five Mids in the top 10. In addition to being named Performer of the Meet, Mumford was named First Team All-Patriot League.
