Game Information
•   The Navy men's basketball team closes its non-league slate with a pair of games this weekend in Annapolis.
•   The Mids will play host to Coppin State Friday at 5 p.m. and Rosemont College Sunday at noon.
•   The games will each be streamed through ESPN+ and also aired on WNAV.
Attending the Games
•   Only those vehicles driven by someone with a Department of Defense (DoD)-approved identification card will be allowed onto the USNA.
•   Fans without DoD approved vehicle access to the USNA must park outside of The Yard.  The simplest way to do this is to take the free shuttle bus, which starts running one hour before tip.
•   The shuttle bus will depart from and return to Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium (550 Taylor Avenue, Annapolis, Md., 21401).  Enter the blue / west parking lot through gate 5 off of Taylor Avenue.  There is a $10 per vehicle parking fee.  The free fan shuttle bus will leave from and return to the Blue Angel jet. Â
•   Whether a visitor rides the shuttle bus or walks through one of the USNA gates, everyone ages 18 and over must have a valid picture ID (i.e.: State issued driver's license with REAL ID or a government issued passport). Visitors ages 17 and younger who do not have a valid picture ID must be accompanied by an adult. Foreign passports are not permitted for general access.
A Look Back

Austin Benigni scored 23 second half points to help Navy rally from a nine-point deficit to defeat Air Force, 61-56, Dec. 7 in Annapolis.
•   After a first half that saw 11 lead changes and six ties, the Falcons took a 37-28 lead with 12 minutes still to play. Â
•   It then was a 39-32 and 41-34 lead for Air Force when Benigni scored the next 13 points to give the Mids a 47-41 lead with 6:25 remaining.
•   The Mids were able to hang on to that slim lead over the rest of the contest.
•   Benigni totaled 25 points and five assists while
Aidan Kehoe posted 10 points, 15 rebounds and 3 blocks.
Coppin State Preview
•   Coppin State ended last season with an overall record of 6-24 and placed seventh in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference with a 4-10 record.
•   The Eagles placed eighth in this year's conference preseason poll.
•   Coppin State enters Friday's game with a 2-12 record this season.  The Eagles lost a 95-84 decision at Loyola on Nov. 30.  Other losses have been to Maryland, South Florida, VCU, West Virginia and Saint Joseph's.
•   The team's two wins this year have come against Central Pennsylvania (103-62) and Rider (68-65).
Series History
•   Though separated by a reasonable car ride, the teams did not face each other until the 2009-10 season.
•   Navy leads the young series by a 4-3 count.
•   The home team has posted a 6-1 record in the series, which includes Navy holding a 3-0 advantage in games played on The Yard.
•   Coppin State posted a 68-60 victory last season in Baltimore.
•   The Eagles played seven players against Navy in last year's game in Baltimore.  Only two of those seven return this year in reserves (from the game) Camaren Sparrow (31 minutes 11 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals) and Khali Horton (15 minutes, 6 points).
•   Conversely, Navy returns all five starters and eight of the 11 players who took to the floor in last season's game.Â
•   The Coppin State roster includes transfers Hassan Perkins (UMES), Favour Aire (Miami, Penn State, Bryant), Chris Morgan (North Texas, Monmouth), Elijah Taylor (Notre Dame, Quinnipiac) and Taj Thweatt (West Virginia, Temple).

•   Navy has posted a 9-6 record in games played on Dec. 19 and a 7-8 record in games played on Dec. 21.
Navy vs. MEAC
•   The Mids have compiled an 18-13 record against teams currently in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.  This includes a 66-59 win over Delaware State on Dec. 3
•   Navy has posted an 11-3 record against current MEAC teams when the game was played in Annapolis.
•   This includes a 10-3 record when the game was played in Alumni Hall.
Coppin State vs. Patriot League
•   The Eagles have tallied an 11-13 record against teams currently in the Patriot League.  This includes a 95-84 loss at Loyola on Nov. 30.
•   Coppin State has posted a 3-8 record in road games played against current teams in the Patriot League.
Rosemont College Preview
•   This is the last season of varsity sports for Rosemont College as the teams that currently compete on the NCAA Division III level will become club sports as part of the Philadelphia school's merger with neighboring Villanova.  The school stopped accepting new students this fall.
•   The men's basketball team is competing this season in the 14-team United East Conference alongside schools such as Notre Dame of Maryland, St. Mary's (Md.), Gallaudet and several Penn State branch schools.
•   The Ravens head into a Saturday game at home against the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy with an overall record of 1-8 and a 1-1 mark in UEC games.
•   Rosemont ended the 2024-25 season with an overall record of 5-21 and a conference mark of 3-13.
•   Navy has previously played UEC teams Gallaudet (1917-18, 1918-19), Penn State Harrisburg (2014-15) and St. Mary's (1995-96), with the Mids winning all four of those games.

•   Navy starts Patriot League play with a New Year's Eve Day (1 p.m.) game at home against Boston U.

Austin Benigni became the 27th Mid to score 1,000 career points during Navy's Jan. 18, 2025, game at Bucknell.
•   He reached the milestone in his 81st career game.  That ranks him 12th for the fewest games needed to score 1,000 points.
