BALTIMORE, Md. — Two-time All-Patriot League defenseman
AJ Marsh (So / Reisterstown, Md.) was named a 2025 Inside Lacrosse Honorable Mention All-American it was announced this week. A combined 42 players were recognized as first-, second- or third-team selections, while another 63 garnered honorable mention.
Marsh, who garnered Honorable Mention All-America honors by USA Lacrosse a week ago, is a first-time postseason award winner by Inside Lacrosse. Typically assigned to the opposing team's most lethal offensive weapon, Marsh flourished in his role down low on a Navy defense that held its opponents to 10.60 goals per game this season. He was named to the USILA National Team of the Week following his performance against Lafayette where he held First-Team All-Patriot League attackman Riley Sullivan, who was the nation's #2 point producer (6.67) and #1 assist distributor (3.89) at the time, to just ONE point (G) in the contest. Active on the ball, Marsh, along with
Jacob Darrow (Sr / D / Millersville, Md.) and
Sean Gallagher (Jr / LSM / Garnet Valley, Pa.), led the team with 14 caused turnovers.
In addition to his defensive efforts, he's one of the most dynamic players in the country in the transition game. Marsh recorded 9 points on 5 goals and 4 assists this spring. In just 2 seasons, he has recorded 14-career points (7G, 7A), the third-most points by a Navy pole, while his 5 goals are tied as the fourth most.
Navy was one of six Patriot League teams to have at least one player named to the Inside Lacrosse All-America teams - Army (6), Colgate (3), Boston U. (1), Lafayette (1), Lehigh (1), Navy (1).
The USILA All-Americans are expected to be announced leading into the National Championship. Navy has secured a USILA All-American in 98 of the 102 years in which awards have been handed out, while Navy has earned a combined 442 citations by 280 different players.
