Navy Men
The Mids enter their final dual meet of the season after they posted a 2-1 record two weeks ago in a two-day extended dual meet against Delaware (W, 266-87), Kenyon (W, 290-62) and No. 22 Princeton (L, 202-151).
Navy last tallied 12 wins in a season in 2015-16 when it finished the year with a 12-1 record. Since then, the Mids have won 11 meets in a season in 2018-19 (11-3), 2019-20 (11-3) and 2024-25 (11-4).
Columbia
The Lions have only faced fellow members of the Ivy League this season. One of those losses was a 225-75 defeat to Princeton on Nov. 14.
The Mids hold a 69-26 advantage in the all-time series with the Lions, which dates back to the 1914-15 season. The programs met annually from the 1926-27 through 1969-70 seasons and, except for the 2020-21 COVID season, have faced each every year since the series resumed starting with the 1977-78 campaign.
Navy recorded a 158-142 victory over Columbia last year in Lejeune Hall. Each team won eight events during the meet, with Navy placing first in both relay races.
Back for the Mids are
Ben Irwin, who won both backstroke races;
Juan Mora, the winner of the 100 breast and 200 IM events; and
Anthony Sciulli, who won the three-meter diving board. Returning for the Lions are Stephen Zhukov, who won the 500 and 1000 free races; Sam Eckert, winner of the 50 free; Joseph Corn, who won the 200 breast; and Joseph Nicol, the winner of the one-meter diving event.
Navy Women
Navy was last in a meet two weeks ago when it defeated Kenyon (187.5-165.5) and lost to Delaware (201-152) and Princeton (268-84). Saturday will be the last dual meet of the year for the Mids.
James Madison
The Dukes will compete at Richmond Friday before they play host to the Mids on Saturday.
James Madison won the Sun Belt Conference Championship in both 2024 and '25.
Navy holds an 11-9 advantage in the series with James Madison. The teams met annually throughout the 1980s and into the early 1990s as each were members of the Colonial (now Coastal) Athletic Association at the time.
The Mids have won the last two meetings, a 151-149 road victory during the 2023-23 season and a 157-129 win at home during the 2023-24 campaign.
