ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Navy swimming and diving teams combined to win 21 events during the Navy Invitational held Saturday afternoon at Lejeune Hall in Annapolis. The field for the meet –– which did not include team scoring –– included the Mids along with American, Bucknell, Lafayette and Lehigh.
"The in-season portion of the year is now complete as we are looking forward to preparing for championships," said Navy men's swimming head coach
Bill Roberts. "Despite the dual meet portion of the season being finished, we still have many of our goals for the year still in front of us and will continue to work toward each of those in the coming weeks."
The women's team totaled 10 event victories on the day. Diver
Mackenzie Kim won both the one and three-meter boards with scores of 288.15 and 313.25, respectively, and
Allie Maloney won both the 100 (50.87) and 200 free (1:50.96) races.
Dean Jones was the lone member of the men's team to win multiple events as he placed first in the 100 fly (48.04) and 500 free (4:28.27). Two of the team's 11 victories came in the 200 free and 200 medley relay races.
Navy will now set its sights on the Feb. 18-21 Patriot League Championship to be held in Lejeune Hall.
