ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Navy men's swimming and diving team recorded a pair of program milestones as the Mids defeated No. 14 LSU and Loyola, Friday afternoon at Lejeune Hall in Annapolis. The Mids (2-0) posted a 167.5-132.5 win over the Tigers (1-1) and a 236-64 victory over the Greyhounds (0-2). In the women's meet between the teams, the Mids (1-1) lost a 225.5-74.5 decision to No. 17 LSU (2-0) and defeated Loyola (0-2) by the score of 212-88.
The Tigers are the highest ranked team the Mids have defeated since the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America began national polls roughly two decades ago. Prior ranked wins for Navy have been against No. 23 Penn State on Jan. 12, 2012, No. 24 North Carolina on Jan. 12, 2019 and No. 25 Princeton on Jan. 4, 2011.
Additionally, this marks Navy's first victory against a current member of the Southeastern Conference (was 0-5).
"This definitely was a great team win," said Navy men's swimming head coach
Bill Roberts. "We received a number of important results from a lot of different contributors at key moments in the meet."
Martin Perecinsky won a pair of events for Navy on the day. He recorded a time of 1:35.78 to win the 200 free and later posted a 1:46.29 to place first in the 200 back. Also winning swimming races were

Navy swept the two diving events as

James Boardman scored 374.15 points to win the three-meter event.
"The event wins were great," said Roberts, "but this meet was won with the second, third, fourth and fifth-place finishes we had. And our divers did a great job to sweep the two events and provide important points."
Claire Ellish also had a good day on the diving boards as she won the one-meter event for the Navy women's team with her effort of 257.75 points.
The Navy women's team as a whole totaled eight third-place finishes on the day. Staying with the divers,
