Men’s Tennis to Play at Lehigh, Host No. 75 Kennesaw State

ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The second weekend of Patriot League play for the Navy men's tennis team (17-15, 1-0) has it traveling to Bethlehem, Pa., for a Saturday morning (10 a.m.) match at Lehigh (6-7, 0-0).  Additionally, a second team of Mids will play host to No. 75 Kennesaw State (12-4) in Annapolis.  That match will start at 11 a.m. and be played at the Tose Family Tennis Center.

Navy
The Mids began their league campaign with a 6-1 victory over Boston University Sunday in Annapolis.  Four Mids won a pair of matches over the Terriers.

One of those was Aniketh Ayinala, who improved his singles record to 12-3 this spring with his 6-4, 6-2 victory at No. 2 singles and paired with J.J Etterbeek for a 6-2 victory at No. 3 doubles.  Also, the team of Lachlan Buckingham and Jake Young remained undefeated through eight matches on the year with a 6-2 victory at No. 2 doubles.  Those two players also won in straight sets at Nos. 4 (Young) and 6 (Buckingham) singles.

Lehigh
The Mountain Hawks will be opening their Patriot League season with the match against the Mids.  Lehigh and Navy each have defeated Saint Francis, Hofstra and Mount St. Mary's and lost to Monmouth and William & Mary.  The Mids also beat Saint Joseph's while the Mountain Hawks lost to the Hawks.   

Navy won a 5-2 decision over Lehigh last season in a match played in Annapolis.  

Kennesaw State
The Owls will play Friday at Howard before traveling to Annapolis on Saturday.  Kennesaw State was ranked 71st nationally on March 10 and 73rd on March 17 before being ranked 75th this week.

The Owls have posted wins this season over teams such as Lehigh (4-1), William & Mary (4-3) and Presbyterian (4-3), with one of their losses being a 4-1 setback to current No. 41 Miami (Fla.).

Kennesaw State finished last season with an 8-10 record and reached the semifinal round of the Conference USA Tournament.

Saturday's match will be the first between the schools.
