Kehoe Leads NCAA in Field Goal Percentage

ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Navy's Aidan Kehoe ended the 2025-26 season as the NCAA leader in field goal percentage.  The senior who totaled 10 points and 11 rebounds as a freshman posted a Navy-record field goal percentage of 73.1 percent this year to pace all players in the country.

He joins David Robinson as the only Mids to end a season ranked first in the NCAA in a statistical category.  Robinson led the NCAA in eight statistics over the course of his 1986 and 1987 seasons.

Kehoe's field goal percentage this season bettered the previous Navy single-season record of 64.4 percent set by Robinson in 1984-85.  Also, Kehoe's career mark of 66.9 percent breaks the Navy standard of 62.5 percent held by Evan Wieck (2017-20).

The last Patriot League player to lead the country in a statistic was American's Jamir Harris, who led all players in minutes played per game during the 2020-21 season.

Kehoe also ranked among the top-10 players in the country in double-doubles (tied for fifth with 19), total rebounds (fifth with 369), rebounds per game (sixth with an average of 10.1 rpg), defensive rebounds per game (ninth with an average of 7.06 drpg) and offensive rebounds per game (10th with an average of 3.79 orpg).

Kehoe was not the only Mid to rank among the top-50 players in the country this season in a statistic.  Donovan Draper ranked 24th in steals per game (2.09 spg) and tied for 30th in steals (67), while Austin Benigni ranked among the national leaders in minutes played (30th, 36:09), free throws made (36th, 176) and free throw percentage (39th, 88.0%).

Navy ranked among the top-30 teams in the country in eight statistics.  This includes being ranked sixth in scoring defense (64.3 ppg), seventh in defensive three-point field goal percentage (29.7%) and tying for 10th place for the most improved teams in the NCAA (the Mids improved from a 15-19 record in 2024-25 to a 26-8 mark in 2025-26).
