KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Four members of the Navy men's basketball team received National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court recognition for their academic success during the 2025-26 academic year.
Austin Benigni and
Sam Krist earned the accolade for a second year in a row, while
Cam Cole and
Aidan Kehoe were first-time recipients.
Established starting with the 2006-07 season, the award recognizes juniors, seniors and graduate school students who carry at a minimum a 3.20 cumulative grade-point average at the conclusion of the academic year and are members of the school's varsity team.
Benigni finished his career with a 3.45 GPA and with a degree in computer science. Kehoe graduated from Navy with a 3.23 GPA after completing coursework in political science. Krist majored in ocean engineering and recorded a 3.49 GPA during his four years in Annapolis.
Cole, who will captain the team during his upcoming 2026-27 senior season, enters his final season on The Yard with a 3.57 GPA as a cyber operations major.
There have now been 11 Mids who have garnered the laurel twice in a career, 18 who have earned the award at least once and the program has totaled 29 honors in all.
The team has accrued four awards in a year for the third time in the last five seasons (2021-22, 2024-25, 2025-26).
This is the 13th time in the 19 years of the award in which Navy has had at least one honoree, including each of the last seven seasons.
