ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Navy women's soccer team moves onto its second week of non-conference action with a contests this Thursday and Sunday. First up is a home bout versus service academy rival Air Force on Thursday night at 7 p.m. at the Glenn Warner Soccer Facility. Following that duel, Navy will head out on the road for its first game away from Annapolis with a tilt at the University of Delaware on Sunday night starting at 6 p.m. in Newark. The Mids come into the double dip of competition with a 1-1 record, while the Falcons are undefeated at 2-0 and the Fightin' Blue Hens are also flawless at 1-0 following a 3-2 decision over George Washington on Aug. 15.
All of the women's soccer action this week will have live stats provided online, as well as ESPN+ broadcasts. ESPN+ is a subscription-based streaming service that requires patrons to sign-up for monthly or yearly plans prior to tuning into the contest.
Navy vs. Air Force | Navy vs. Delaware
This week's matchups features two series that had until recently had late dormant for nearly 20 years ... After playing six times between 1997 and 2002 as part of the Military Academies Classic in St. Louis, Missouri, Navy and Air Force met up on the pitch 19 years later in Annapolis on Sept. 12, 2021 ... Through those first seven matchups, Navy holds a slight 4-3 advantage and has out-scored Air Force, 8-6 ... The longest streak during this series was three straight wins by the Mids in 2000, 2001 and 2002 ... The most recent matchup went the way of the Falcons by a 1-0 margin.
Though separated by less than 100 miles, Navy and Delaware have rarely met in soccer action with only three prior contests coming into Sunday ... All-time, the series edge goes to Navy, 2-1 after the Mids earned victories on the Fightin' Blue Hens' turf during the 2002 season and at home in 2003 ... Following 22 years of inactivity, the series got back online with Delaware getting into the win column last August with a hard fought 1-0 victory in Annapolis.

The Navy women's soccer team completed its run of early season non-conference play with a 1-0 loss to Air Force on Sunday. Playing in front of a boisterous crowd that surrounded the field at the Glenn Warner Soccer Facility, the Mids out-played the Falcons in most areas of the game except the scoreboard as the visiting service academy rival scored on one of their two shots on goal.

Playing Air Force for the first time since 2002, Navy was on the hunt of the game's opening goal early with four shots taken within the first 20 minutes of play. Getting shut out in the shots category, Air Force made its first attempt count as the Falcons used a series of quick passes inside the 18-yard box from Catherine Bakken and Hailey Ramos to set up Jenna Rubidoux for the game's first goal at 22:19.

The scoreboard stayed at that 1-0 margin over the final 16 minutes of the first half. The teams retired to the locker room with Navy holding a 9-5 advantage in total shots.
Navy's comeback attempt took a while to build in the second half, as over 25 minutes expired with only one recorded shot for the hosts. From the 70th minute on, the Mids were active throughout the offensive third of the field as they took seven shots.Â
In the 1-0 loss, Navy outshot Air Force, 17-9, though both teams only recorded two shots on goal each. The Mids also held an advantage in corner kicks, 7-3.

An early second-half goal from Delaware snapped the Navy women's soccer team's undefeated start to the 2025 campaign, as the Blue Hens handed the Midshipmen a 1-0 loss Sunday afternoon at the Glenn Warner Soccer Facility.

After falling into a defensive battle over the first half of action, a 53rd-minute tally from Adiat Olaogun-Dickson proved to the be only scoring in a showdown of unbeaten opponents despite a closing push from Navy.
Falling by a goal, Navy outshot Delaware, 11-5, though all five of those attempts by the Blue Hens made their way on goal, while only three of the Mids' attempts did the same. Delaware had a significant advantage in corner kicks, 7-2.
