ANNAPOLIS, Md. –– The Navy swimming and diving teams will attempt to win their second conference title in two weeks when the Mids play host to the ECAC Championship Friday through Sunday at Lejeune Hall in Annapolis.

Trial heats will be held Friday and Saturday at 10 a.m. and Sunday at 9 a.m., with finals starting at 6 p.m. the first two days of the meet and at 4 p.m. on the last day.

Both Navy teams will enter different lineups than the ones that swept the Patriot League titles last weekend.

Among the additional teams entered into the meet are Army, Bucknell, George Washington, Lehigh, Loyola, Maine, Marist, Penn and Rider.

The Navy women's team has placed either first (four times) or second at the ECAC Championship six times in the last seven seasons.  The Mids have won the team title in each of the last two years.

"On the heels of a very strong Patriot League showing," said Navy women's swimming head coach John Morrison, "we are looking forward to a great meet in our home pool.   We will need some lifetime best performances to compete against this strong ECAC field."

Erin Jordan (Sr., Southlake, Texas), Alayna Nielsen (Fr., Baldwin, Md.) and Ally Warnimont (Sr., Winston-Salem, N.C.) are each slated to compete in three events for the Mids at the meet.  Jordan is entered into the 400 individual medley and 500 and 1650 freestyle races, Nielsen will compete in the 50 free, 100 fly and 200 back events, and Warnimont will be on the blocks for the 50, 100 and 200 free races.

The Navy men's team has totaled 10 ECAC titles over the last 11 seasons. This includes first-place finishes in each of the last five seasons.

Included among the entrants for Navy are seniors Greg Arnold (Sewickley,Pa.), Nick Pfanstiel (Fishers, Ind.) and Neal Smith (Pittsburgh, Pa.).  Arnold is entered into both backstroke events and the 50 free, Pfanstiel will compete in the 100 fly, 500 free and 1650 free, and Smith will race in the 200, 500 and 1650 freestyle events.

"Similar to last week," said Navy men's swimming head coach Bill Roberts, "we enter this meet with high expectations for our individual and team performance.  Like everyone else, we have put a lot into our championship preparations and are looking forward to competing."
