CENTER VALLEY, Pa. –– Navy's Derrick Thompson (So., Towson, Md.) has been selected as this week's Patriot League Men's Tennis Player of the Week.

Thompson earned the accolade after posting a straight-set win over East Carolina's Diogo Marques, the 103rd ranked singles player in the country.  Thompson won a 6-4, 6-2 decision over Marques Friday in Greenville, N.C.  He would go on to record a 6-3, 2-6, 6-4 win over Winthrop's Abhimanyu Vannemreddy the following day.  Both of those matches were played at the No. 1 singles flight.
