WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Navy track and field team concluded competition at the IC4A / ECAC Outdoor Championships at Walter J. Zable Stadium in Williamsburg, Va. on the campus of William and Mary. Of the small group of just 21 student-athletes Navy sent to compete, five finished in the top eight of their respective events to earn IC4A / ECAC All-East accolades.
On the men's side, Navy recorded two IC4A All-East performances, while the women's team registered three ECAC All-East honors.
Mitchell Rome (Dallas, Pa.) was Navy's top overall finisher, claiming third place in the 10,000m run. He posted a time of 30:28.44 to finish third in the event and claim All-East distinction for the first time in his Midshipmen career.
In the 400m hurdles,
Levi Knobloch (Alpine, Calif.) registered a seventh-place finish with a time of 54.81 to earn All-East honors for the first time in his Navy career.
Alycia Ruiz (Greenville, Pa.) was the Midshipmen's top finisher on the women's side, earning All-East honors with a sixth-place finish in the javelin. The sophomore registered a distance of 41.99m (137-09) to finish sixth in the event.
In the 1,500m run, Ellie Abraham (Brookings, S.D.) finished seventh in the event with a time of 4:28.83 to earn ECAC All-East honors.
Freshman Carolyn Thurlby (Overland Park, Kan.) earned ECAC All-East distinction in the 3,000m steeplechase. The rookie clocked a time of 10:48.76 to finish eighth in the event. The time was the 10th best in program history.
