FAIRFAX, Va. - The Navy track and field team competed in the Patriot Games hosted by George Mason on Saturday in Fairfax, Va. The meet was the fourth for Navy this season and its final preparation before next Saturday's dual versus Army. The Mids claimed first in eight events and finished with 16 IC4A / ECAC qualifying marks.

"We came here to tune up for the Army-Navy meet next week. We accomplished our mission and got some great performances in," said associate head coach
Chris Campbell. "We had some developmental athletes have an opportunity to compete in a college competition and are better for it."

The meet was highlighted by the Navy throwers claiming first in three events.
Joshua Boamah took first in the men's shot put with an IC4A qualifying distance of 16.86m (55' 3.75") and in the weight throw with a qualifying distance of 19.57m (64' 2.5").
Collin Greene also posted qualifying distances in both throw events at 16.05m (52' 8") in the shot put and (61' 2.25") in the weight throw.
Sam Kwatkosky and
Dane Vernor also recorded qualifying distances in the weight throw with throws of 18.99m (62' 3.75") and 18.38m (60' 3.75") respectively.

Autumn Nicholas led the way for the women's throwers, placing first in the shot put with a distance of 13.09m (42' 11.5"). She took second in the weight throw with an ECAC qualifying mark of 17.95m (58' 10.75").

Navy also claimed first in the men's and women's pole vault.
Jack Haller ended with a qualifying height of 4.92m (16' 1.75") for the men, while
Stephanie Jacobs posted a qualifying height of 3.82m (12' 6.25") for the women. Four additional Mids had qualifying marks in the pole vault.
Walker Rudisaile took second on the men's side with a height of 4.82m (15' 9.75") and
Alayna Schloeder,
Charlene Morke and
Elise Russell all made a height of 3.67m (12' 0.5") to finish with the second-best mark in the women's pole vault.

Jayshon Dubose and
Conrad Swenson had the top two times in the men's 60m hurdles in Fairfax. Swenson won the prelim in 8.62 seconds while Dubose took second with a time of 8.68 seconds. Dubose took .21 seconds off his time in the finals, claiming first in 8.47 seconds and Swenson took second with a time of 8.61 seconds.

Ben Countiss competed in his first collegiate 3,000m at the Patriot Games and finished with an IC4A qualifying time of 8:27.54. Samuel Moultrie and Joseph Reimann both recorded qualifying times in the men's mile. Moultrie took second with a time of 4:13.26, while Reimann wasn't far behind in third with a time of 4:13.45.

Caroline Harding who won the women's 3,000m with a time of 10:14.94.
