ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Navy women's golf team is set for a five-event slate this fall to begin the 2023-24 season, interim head coach
Kylee Sullivan announced Wednesday.
Navy opens the fall at the Bucknell Invitational this week on Sept. 9-10, returning to the event for the third time in five years (2019, 2021) and playing at the Bucknell Golf Club in Lewisburg, Pa., for the sixth time in program history. In the Mids' last appearance at the Bucknell Invitational in 2021, Navy shot a then-program record score of 885 over 54 holes to take first place.
Heading back to Pennsylvania next weekend (Sept. 16-17), the Mids are set to play in the Nittany Lion Invitational at Penn State Blue Course for the second-straight season and the fourth time in six years. Last season's edition of the tournament saw Navy finish ninth out of 16 teams, while
Stephanie Lee used a three-round score of 7-over par 223 to take 24th place.
The Mids then host the Navy Fall Invitational from Sept. 30 to Oct. 1 at the Naval Academy Golf Club, looking to repeat as the event's champions after posting a 36-hole score of 616 last fall to beat out 15 other teams in a rain-soaked weekend.
The Mids are then set to send a golfer to the Jackson T. Stephens Cup once again, with the 2023 version of the event being held at the Trinity Forest Golf Club in Dallas, Texas.
Navy closes out the fall schedule on Oct. 21-22 at the Lady Blue Hen Invitational at the Rehoboth Beach Country Club in Rehoboth Beach, Del., where then-sophomore
Bridget Hoang shot a program-low 1-under par 215 last season to place second in the 54-hole tournament.
The Mids return five golfers from last season's roster, led by a senior class of Hirtle, a three-time All-Patriot League selection, and
Stephanie Lee, a two-time all-league honoree.
