Track and Field Returns to Action for Dual Meet Against Princeton

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Navy track and field teams resume the indoor season with a dual against Princeton on Saturday at the Wesley A. Brown Field House in Annapolis, Md.

The men's dual will begin with the field events at 11 a.m. and the first track event will take place at noon. The women's dual will open with the field events at 2:30 p.m. and the first track event will start at 3:30 p.m.

Meet Scoring
Scoring is 5-3-2-1 for individual events and 5-3 for relays. Two athletes from each school will score per individual event. There are 181 total points in the 15 individual events and two relays. A team needs 91 points to win the meet.

Notes For Traveling Fans
• Admission to the Navy vs. Princeton dual is free
• Vehicular access to the Naval Academy is limited to those drivers with a Department of Defense identification card
• All other visitors must either park outside of the Naval Academy grounds and walk through the security gates at Gate 1 or take the complimentary shuttles from Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium (550 Taylor Avenue, Annapolis, Md., 21401)
• The shuttles will run from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
• Enter the blue/west parking lot through gate 5 off of Taylor Avenue
• The cost of parking is $10
• Visitors 18 years and older must present a government-issued identification card (driver's license / passport) to gain access to the Academy grounds, while visitors 17 and younger must be accompanied by an adult

Three Mids Claim Patriot League Weekly Accolades
Hannah Lowenstein, Joshua Boamah and Sheldon Ulmer garnered Patriot League Athlete-of-the-Week honors following their performances at the Navy Invitational I on Dec. 2.

Lowenstein received the women's field-athlete-of-the-week award thanks to her record-breaking performance in the high jump. The senior broke the Navy record with a height of 1.77m (5' 9.75") to finish in first place in the event. She now owns the best indoor and outdoor high jump marks in program history. The Pompano Beach, Fla., native broke the previous school record by 0.04m (1.73m / 5' 8"), which was achieved by Taylor Buchanan (2022), Molly Chapman (2022) and Suzanne Dondero (1997). Additionally, her height ranks second in the Mid-Atlantic Region and 14th in the nation this season.
 
Boamah was named the men's field athlete of the week for claiming victories in the shot put and weight throw. His shot put (17.95m / 58' 10.75") and weight throw (19.87m / 65' 2.25") efforts are the 14th and 22nd-best marks in the country, respectively. 
 
Ulmer had an impressive performance in his collegiate debut to earn the men's rookie-of-the-week accolade. The Greensboro, N.C., native registered a high jump height of 2.07m (6' 9.5") to place second. His mark is the second-best height in the Mid-Atlantic Region and ranks 28th nationally.

Other Highlights From the Navy Invitational I
Brahmir Vick posted two 60m hurdle times that rank in the top 10 in Navy history. He recorded the second-fastest (7.81) time in the preliminaries and the fourth-best (7.84) finish in the finals to win the event. His preliminary finish is the sixth-fastest time in the country this season. 

Jacques Guillaume began his junior campaign with a top-10 time in the 200m. He won the event with the eighth-best time in school history at 21.36. The Jacksonville, Fla., native currently owns the sixth-fastest time in the nation. 
 
Jonah Johnson finished in first place in the 60m (6.88) and second place in the 200m (21.56). Johnson's 200m time is the 11th-best finish nationally. 

Pete deJonge competed in the 500m for just the second time in his career and won the race with a time of 1:04.88.

Women's team captain Annie Taylor claimed a first-place finish in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.71. The Nashville, Tenn., native was also a key contributor in helping the Mids win the 4x400m relay. Taylor Woodworth, Annie Lemelin, Taylor and Sophia Richter placed first in the race with a time of 3:48.68, which ranks 23rd in the nation. 

Woodworth achieved a first-place finish in the 400m. She registered a time of 55.82 to earn her first individual win in her career. Additionally, her time is 12th in the country. 

Greyson Gravitt and Mia-Claire Kezal were the top-performing distance runners for Navy. Gravitt won the 1,000m with a time of 2:28.57 and Kezal finished first overall in the 3,000m at 10:17.02.

Benjemen Schneider and Ulmer both posted a height of 2.07m (6' 9.5") in the high jump. Schneider was awarded first place for reaching the mark in fewer attempts.

Thomas Christie provided a victory in the long jump with a distance of 7.03m (23' 0.75").
 
The Mids won both the men's and women's pole vault thanks to a pair of national top-40 heights from Walker Rudisaile (5.06m / 16' 7.25") and Alayna Schloeder (3.92m / 12' 10.25"). Rudisaile's mark ranks 20th in the country, while Schloeder's is 33rd. 

Collin Greene also excelled in the shot put and weight throw. He finished behind Boamah in second place in both competitions thanks to a pair of career-best throws. The Elkridge, Md., native posted a shot put mark of 17.04m (55' 11.00") and a weight throw distance of 19.65m (64' 5.75"). His weight throw and shot put marks rank 25th and 37th in the country, respectively. 

Navy Dual Record Under Cook
Under the direction of Director of Track and Field / Cross Country Jamie Cook, Navy is 24-7 (77.4) in duals. The Mids won five of their six dual meets last season, which included a perfect 4-0 record against Army. 

Navy split its dual against Princeton in 2023. The men claimed a 92-88 victory for their third-straight win over the Tigers. The women suffered their third-consecutive loss to Princeton a year ago by a score of 112-67. The men's team has won four of its five duals against the Tigers since Cook's arrival to Annapolis.
