ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Following an impressive showing in match play on Saturday, Navy sophomore Emma Tang has been named the Patriot League Women's Golfer of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday afternoon.
 
Tang was an instrumental part in Navy taking Maryland to the wire in a 4.5-3.5 match-play loss at the U.S. Naval Academy Golf Club, as Tang defeated two-time All-Big Ten selection Nicha Kanpai, 3 & 1, in her singles match.
 
This marks Tang's second time winning the honor this season, previously claiming the award on Oct. 2 after placing first at the Navy Fall Invitational. It is also Tang's third time in her career earning Golfer of the Week, picking it up on Oct. 25, 2023 after a third-place finish in the Lady Blue Hen Invitational.
 
For the season, Tang has a team-leading 75.86 scoring average in seven rounds with three rounds being at or below par.
 
Navy will next head to the Lehigh Invitational on Oct. 19-20.
