ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Navy track and field teams hit the road for the second time this season to compete in the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational, hosted by Liberty, at the Liberty Indoor Track Complex in Lynchburg, Va. The meet will not have team scoring.
The two-day event will begin on Friday at 1 p.m. and continue on Saturday at 9 a.m. Fans can view the schedule and access free live results with links provided on navysports.com.

Jia Anderson and Nathan Kent Named NAAA Co-Athletes of the Week
Last week's Naval Academy Athletic Association Athlete-of-the-Week Award, presented by Northrop Grumman was shared by four Midshipmen. Track and field's own Jia Anderson and
Nathan Kent received honors for their performance in the annual Army-Navy Star Meet.
Anderson won the 60m hurdles and 200m dash, while placing second in the 60m sprint. She was responsible for 13 of Navy's 94 points in its 94-87 victory over Army. Anderson clocked in at 8.65 in the 60m hurdles and ran a 200m time of 25.35. The Wilmington, Del. native added three more points to the team total in the 60m with a time of 7.71, finishing second to teammate Annie Lemelin by 0.003 seconds.
Kent was the winner of two events – the 200m and 400m – to score a combined 10 points at the Army-Navy Star Meet last Saturday, helping the Midshipmen to a 99-82 victory over the Black Knights. The Rocklin, Calif. native clocked in a time of 21.52 in the 200m dash, finishing 0.03 seconds shy of tying a meet record that he set last year. He won his second event on the day in the 400m with a time of 49.70.
Tesi Tabbed Patriot League Women's Rookie of the Week
Navy's freshman Zoie Tesi received her second Patriot League Women's Rookie of the Week accolade. Tesi had a career day against the Black Knights on Feb. 1 to secure the programs 22nd-consecutive Star. She registered the ninth-best mark in program history in the high jump with a height of 1.71m (5' 7.25") to add five team points for the Midshipmen. Tesi added three more points in the triple jump with a season-best mark of 11.52m (37' 9.5") to place second.
Star Meet Recap
Navy swept the Indoor Star Meet for the sixth-consecutive season on Saturday, Feb. 1.
The men's team claimed a 99-82 victory to extend its lead in the indoor series, 37-27-2. The Mids placed first in nine of the 17 events, earning maximum points in six by placing first and second.
Navy earned maximum points in the 500m with team captain
Jacques Guillaume and
Pete deJonge took 1-2 respectively. Guillaume took first place for the second consecutive meet with a time of 1:04.07, deJonge followed as he clocked a time of 1:05.97 to secure the eight points.
The Mids dominated the distance events taking 1-2-3 in the 1,000m, mile and 3,000m events.
Navy secured the victory by sweeping the relay events. The quartet of

Jay Evans and
Jacques Guillaume won the 4x400m with a time of 3:17.13. Army was leading the race going into the final lap but Guillaume overtook Chad Dohl to secure the meet with an additional five team points.
Navy's lone field event victory was in the high jump event with a crucial maximum points outing.
Sheldon Ulmer led the charge in his indoor season debut with a height of 2.06m (6' 9").
Thomas Christie also made his indoor season debut taking second with a mark of 2.03m (6' 7.75").
The women's team posted a 94-87 win over Army. The team won 10 of 17 events, earning max points (eight) on three to improve the indoor series lead to 21-17-1.
The running events got started with junior Sophie Compton placing third in the mile event for the first two team points. Compton added her name to the record book posting the fifth fastest mile time in program history of 4:47.29. Compton's big day carried over in the 3,000m where she ran the second-best time of 9:41.63. She ended her day with five combined points.
Sophia Richter won the 400m event as she posted a season-best time of 56.28. Kylie Bedard ran a time of 56.64 to place third.
Senior team captain Taylor Woodworth claimed the 500m top crown for the second-consecutive meet with a season-best time and a Gillis Field House facility record of 1:13.32.
Mia-Claire Kezal and Lexi Ensor combined for seven points in the 1,000m event. Kezal led the pace with her season-best time of 2:52.03. Ensor took third place with a career-best time of 2:53.55.
In the field events Zoie Tesi won the high jump event. She registered the ninth best mark in program history with a height of 1.71m (5' 7.25") to add five team points for the Midshipmen. Tesi added three more points in the triple jump with a season-best mark of 11.52m (37' 9.5").
Navy went 1-2-3 in the pole vault event. Helen Emerick and Sophia Hill awarded the Mids eight points with an identical mark of 3.75m (12' 3.5"). Mimi McHugh finished third as she tied her season-best mark of 3.60m (11' 9.75").
Navy capped off the meet with a time of 9:26.42 in the 4x800m relay to secure its 22nd-consecutive star.

The Mids will compete in the Navy Select next Friday for their final tune up before the Patriot League Indoor Championship. The meet will start at 10 a.m. at the Wesley A. Brown Field House in Annapolis, Md.
