The Navy men's golf team will play its final tournament of the regular season when it travels to Bridgeport, W.Va. to compete in the 18-team Mountaineer Invitational. Hosted by West Virginia, the two-day, 54-hole tournament is slated to begin on Monday morning at Pete Dye Golf Club (par 72 / 7,308 yds). The tournament gets underway with a shotgun start at 8:15 am with 36 holes schedule for Monday and the final 18 on Tuesday.

• Navy is among an 18-team field that features 5 teams ranked among the top 100 - #4 Oklahoma State, #28 Texas Tech, #52 TCU, #74 Kentucky and #95 West Virginia
• There are 9 players who are currently ranked among the top 200 who are expected to compete, including 4 of the top 100 - #10 Ethan Fang, Oklahoma State; #15 Preston Stout, Oklahoma State; #52 Eric Lee, Oklahoma State; #60 Connor Graham, Texas Tech

Tournament History
• This will be the 10th consecutive Mountaineer Invitational
• Penn State won the inaugural event in 2015 , followed by 2016 Arkansas, 2017 Bowling Green, 2018 West Virignia, 2019 West Virginia, October 2021 NC State, April 2021 West Virginia, 2023 Oklahoma State, 2024 West Virginia
• West Virginia is the only team to win the tournament multiple times (2018, '19, spring '21, 2024)

Going into the Mountaineer Invitational, Chip Deegan owns team's low average at 72.77 among the 8 tournaments in which he has competed, including a sensational appearance at the spring-opening Watersound Invitational where he tied for 14th with a 3-under par 213 (72-70-71). He shot a 6-under par 207 to place third at the Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate. Meanwhile, Jack Tarzy, who garnered Patriot League Golfer of the Week honors a week ago, owns a 73.12 average in 9 tournaments this year. He earned a top-25 finish at last week's Augusta Hawskins Award Invitational that featured seven of the top-40 teams in the country. Tarzy was Navy's top finisher in 3 of the 4 tournaments during the fall (Alex Lagowitz Memorial, The Goat, Commander-In-Chief's Cup), while Deegan paced the Mids at the Folds of Honor Collegiate. Deegan has been the Mids' top finisher in three of the four tournaments this spring.
