Looking back
Navy vs. Western (Ontario)

• Navy won the first seven matches en route to a 7-2 victory over #19 Western (Ontario) (1-9) last Saturday afternoon at the Prager Family Squash Facility in Annapolis, Md.
• Meeting for the 20th time overall and just the fourth in Annapolis, it was Navy's first victory over the Mustangs since 2018. Western came into the match having won seven in a row against Navy.
• For the second-consecutive match, Johan Hodgson provided Navy with its first win of the match, sweeping fellow rookie Liam McKay at the # 4 spot 11-5, 11-1, 11-6
• Andrew Ko made it 2-0 just three minutes later behind an 11-4, 11-9, 11-5 victory over Western senior Arin Khot at #6
• Avinash Uppuluri not only made it three in a row for Navy, it was the Mids' third-straight sweep as he posted an 11-6, 12-10, 11-9 win over freshman Dylan Erb at #7
• Team captain Alexander Orr, who was recognized prior to the start of the match as the Mids' lone senior, earned his 69th collegiate victory by way of a 3-0 result against sophomore William Znidarec at #3.
• After more than an hour of action, Wenqing Tang clinched the team victory for Navy with a spirited 3-2 win over junior Daniel Deverill at the #1 position. Tang opened with an 11-8 win, but Deverill rallied to win the next two (13-11, 11-9) and take a 2-1 lead. Tang pushed the match to a fifth game with an 11-9 victory in the fourth before finishing the match win an 11-4 win.  Tang is now 19-2 on the season, including 19-0 in team-played matches, and 43-6 over two seasons.
• Christian Graziano picked up a 3-0 win over freshman Rohan Paliwal in just under 30 minutes at the #2 spot, while Michael Tierney Jr. earned a hard-fought 11-9, 11-9, 11-9 win over senior Eesa Huq at #8. Tierney Jr.'s win was the 30th of his career.
• Matthew Kang and Ramsay Killinger put together tough performances, but came up short in four and five games, respectively.

Milestone Watch
• Alexander Orr (69-38) is tied for 13th on Navy's all-time wins leader board alongside Colin Barry (69-29 / 2011-15) and Dylan Sweeney (69-32 / 2015-19) and is now just one win shy of becoming only the 13th player in school history to reach the 70-win milestone. The last player to reach 70 wins was Matt Wang who finished his career a year ago with a 72-50 record.
• Ramsay Killinger, meanwhile, continues to push towards the 50-win mark for his career, as he stands 48-25. He needs two wins to become the 40th player in program history to reach 50 wins. That milestone marker also holds true for Tighe Mullarkey who has posted a 46-23 mark.
• As a team, Navy needs just one more win to reach the 20-win marker this week. The last time Navy won 20 matches was in 2016-17 when the Mids finished the year 20-6. In now its 78th varsity season, just 11 Navy teams (1995-96, 20-8 / 1996-97, 23-13 / 2004-05, 24-7 / 2006-07, 23-8 / 2008-09, 27-8 / 2009-10, 26-8 / 2010-11, 23-10 / 2011-12, 23-7 / 2012-13, 25-9 / 2015-16, 21-10 / 2016-17, 20-6) have achieved 20 wins in a season.

Osborne Reaches 100
• Eighth-year Navy head coach Tyler Osborne earned his 100th collegiate victory on Dec. 7 with the 7-2 win over Rochester.
• Osborne, who became the seventh head coach in program history in the summer of 2018, is fourth Navy squash coach to reach the century mark in the wins column, joining Craig Dawson (365-154 / 2001-18), Dave Brown (267-117 / 1982-96) and Art Potter (267-62 / 1951-77).
• Osborne owns a 104-84 (.553) record heading into this week's matches
