ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Wrapping up its eight-game homestand, the Navy baseball team (8-3) is set to host Dartmouth (2-4) in a four-game series this weekend at Terwilliger Brothers Field at Max Bishop Stadium.
 
The final non-conference series before Navy opens Patriot League play, the Midshipmen and Big Green begin the weekend with a 5:05 p.m. first pitch on Friday, while Saturday's doubleheader is slated for a 1:05 p.m. start and Sunday's series finale is scheduled for 12 noon. Saturday's twin-bill is set to be a seven-inning contest followed by a nine-inning nightcap.
 
All four games will be streamed on the Navy Athletics YouTube channel, as Tim Nolan will have Friday's call, while Scott Wykoff is set to handle the Saturday games and Joe Miller will broadcast Sunday.
 
Phypers Named PL Pitcher of the Week
Navy freshman Owen Phypers was named the Patriot League Pitcher of the Week on Monday afternoon … Phypers threw seven scoreless frames in the Mids' 4-0 win over St. Bonaventure on Sunday, as the rookie tallied four strikeouts while limiting the Bonnies to four hits and three walks … With Sunday's performance, Phypers became the first Navy freshman to have a scoreless seven-inning outing since Noah Song on April 17, 2016 against Lehigh, while the righty also became the first Mid to throw seven shutout innings since Brady Bendik accomplished the feat in back-to-back starts last season (March 28 at Army and April 5 vs. Lafayette) … Previously named the league's Rookie of the Week on Feb. 16, Phypers has a 1.06 ERA through his first three college starts, allowing just two runs over 17 innings.
 
T.G.I.F. for the Mids
The Mids are 3-0 on Fridays this season so far, hitting .322 as a team while holding a 2.88 team ERA … John Loudon has batted .667 (8-for-12) in those three games, scoring five times and driving five more runs … Henry Mitchell is also hitting .444 on Fridays with four runs scored, while Victor Izquierdo has batted .333 with a pair of extra-base hits in those three games.
 
Back at Bishop
This marks Navy's 104th season playing at the ballpark now known as Terwilliger Brothers Field at Max Bishop Stadium, with the Mids beginning play at then-Lawrence Field in 1923 … Navy has gone 40-22 at home during head coach Chuck Ristano's three seasons at the helm … The Mids have won 10 and only lost four of the 16 home weekend series during Ristano's tenure.

Down by four runs at the midpoint of the game, Navy clawed its way back for an 8-7 walk-off victory over Coppin State on Tuesday evening … A three-run ninth inning by the Mids was capped off by team captain Victor Izquierdo lifting a sacrifice fly to score classmate Henry Mitchell for the walk-off run, downing the Eagles on an afternoon that also saw two-hit performances by rookies Jake Hooten and Will Howard … Hooten extended his hitting streak to four games, while Mitchell and Izquierdo moved their on-base streaks to four games.

The Big Green fell to No. 2 LSU in the first game last weekend, 5-2, before earning a 12-11 victory over Grambling State, as Taer Rodriguez and Henry Murray each collected three RBI in the victory … Dartmouth wrapped the weekend with a 3-0 loss to LSU despite Eddie Albert's impressive performance on the mound, as the senior threw seven innings, allowing only three hits, two runs and fanning eight … Albert's performance on the mound earned him Ivy League Pitcher of the Week honors on Monday … The Big Green continue to be led offensively by A.J.
