PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Navy men's track & field squad wrapped its first day of competition at the 115th running of the world-renowned Penn Relays on Thursday evening at Franklin Field.
Aaron Foote (So., Niagara Falls, N.Y.) was the Mids' top performer in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, placing 16th overall in the college section of the event with his second-fastest career effort in 9:36.18.
Nick Crowell (Sr., Olalla, Wash.) closed out Navy's efforts on the day competing in 5,000-meter run. Crowell took 23rd overall in a time of 14:52.64 - good for the second-fastest outdoor 5K clocking of his collegiate career.
Navy will participate in three relays (4x100, 4x200 and DMR) over the course of Friday's action, while fielding individual competitors in the 400m hurdles, high jump and discus.
P.J. Picache (Jr., Upper Saddle River, N.J.) will run the 400 hurdles, freshman Brian Zitterkopf (Fr., Pace, Fla.) will take part in the high jump, while Tyrell Arment (Jr., Wamblee, S.D.) represents the Mids in the discus.
