ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Navy track and field teams travel to Charlottesville, Va., on Saturday for the Virginia Grand Prix. The field events begin at 11 a.m. and the track events start at 2:30 p.m. The meet will not have team scoring.

Mid-Atlantic Region Rankings
The men's team remained No. 1 in the Mid-Atlantic Region for the third-consecutive week in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) rankings.
The men have totaled 858.85 points to claim their ranking. The Mids hold a 156.9-point advantage over No. 2 Penn State (701.95). Additionally, Navy's regional point total is the second-highest in the nation behind BYU (867.96).
The Mids currently hold 14 top-five times / marks in the region.

Molly Mangan is one of the top runners in the region as she ranks third in the 400m (53.70) and sixth in the 200m (23.90). Additionally, she was a member of Navy's 4x400m relay team that owns the sixth-best time (3:43.66) and the 4x100m relay team that has posted the seventh-fastest time (45.94).Â
The Mids have posted an additional eight times / marks that rank in the top 10 in the region.

Braden Presser's javelin distance of 73.08m (239' 9") is currently the 10th-best mark in the nation. The junior is one of only 22 athletes to record a throw of at least 70.00m. Â Â Â
Last Time Out (Dalton Ebanks Invitational)
Navy recorded 14 IC4A / ECAC qualifying times / marks in the Dalton Ebanks Invitational last Saturday.Â
Dane Vernor opened the meet with a win in the hammer throw with an IC4A qualifying distance of 58.02m (190' 4"). Additionally,
Sam Kwatkosky placed fifth with a qualifying mark of 56.42m (185' 1").
David Huizenga placed second in the discus with a qualifying throw of 51.00m (167' 4").
Hannah Lowenstein placed second in the high jump with an ECAC qualifying mark of 1.70m (5' 7"). Her height was just .01m short of a program top-10 mark.
Tom Fodor won the 3,000m steeplechase with a collegiate-best / qualifying time of 9:13.07.
Joe Reimann also recorded a collegiate-best / qualifying time in the event at 9:17.48 to place second.Â
Caden Dailey finished in second place in the 100m dash with a qualifying time of 10.70.Â
Jay Evans placed third in the 200m with a qualifying time of 21.87.
Mike Quispe crossed the finish line third overall in the 400m with a collegiate-best / qualifying time of 48.71. Â
Ian Bartlett led Navy in the 1,500m by placing sixth with a collegiate-best / qualifying time of 3:51.09.
Jack Lange (3:54.08) and
Luke Nester (3:54.55) also registered qualifying times in the race to place 13th and 15th, respectively.Â
Mitchell Rome (fourth place) and
Alexander Kirkland (eighth place) both posted collegiate-best /Â qualifying times in the 5,000m with times of 14:18.57 and 14:23.15, respectively.Â

The Mids will compete in two meets next week. The Mids will play host to the Navy Spring Invitational II, which is slated for Friday (11 a.m.) and Saturday (9:30 a.m.) at Ingram Field. Navy will also send athletes to compete in the Virginia Challenge in Charlottesville, Va., from Thursday through Saturday.Â
