ANNAPOLIS, Md. – After stepping away from competition for the Thanksgiving holiday, the Navy wrestling team (1-3) returns to action on Friday when it travels to Las Vegas, Nev., to compete in the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational. This year's field features 30 teams, including 14 programs ranked among the top 25. The Las Vegas Convention Center will serve as the host venue for the two-day tournament slated to begin Friday (12 noon ET / 9 a.m. PT) and Saturday (1 p.m. ET / 10 a.m. PT).

Friday, Dec. 6:
· 9 a.m. PT / 12 noon ET: Round 1 Pig Tail Championship, Round 2 of (32) Championship, Round 3 Consolation of (32), Round 4 Championship of (16), Consolation 1st of (16) Round 5 Consolation 2nd of (16)
· 6 p.m. PT / 9 p.m. ET: Round 6 Championship Quarter Finals, Consolation Round 1st of (8), & Round 7 Consolation 2nd of (8)
Saturday, Dec. 7:
· 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET: Round 8 Championship Semi-Finals, Round 9 Consolation Semi Finals, Consolation Finals (5th & 6th, 7th & 8th Places)
· 3 p.m. PT / 6 p.m. ET: Championship Finals (1st & 2nd, 3rd & 4th Places)

CKLV Invitational Notes
· The Mids will compete in the prestigious event for the 15th time and the fourth under head coach Cary Kolat.
· Navy finished in 16th place out of 35 teams in last year's invitational. The Mids have placed in the top 20 in 11 of their 15 appearances.
· Danny Wask looks to continue his success in Las Vegas, he placed fourth at 174-pounds last season where he posted a 4-2 record and defeated two ranked opponents to earn his placement.
· Josh Koderhandt enters the weekend with the most victories (8) among all Midshipmen this season. Koderhandt also leads the team in career wins (87) and is aiming to surpass 90 total victories this weekend.
· Only three of Navy's 10 wrestlers in its projected lineup competed in last year's Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational (Brendan Ferretti, Koderhandt and Wask)
· Three mids received preseeds for the tournament – Koderhandt (5th), Wask (7th) and Daniel Williams (12th).
· The CKLV Invitational field features 30 teams, including Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) foes Binghamton, Hofstra and Sacred Heart.
· Fourteen of the 25 teams ranked in the latest National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Poll will compete in Las Vegas – No. 3 Oklahoma State, No. 4 Nebraska, No. 5 Ohio State, No. 6 N.C. State, No. 7 Virginia Tech, No. 9 Michigan, No. 10 Northern Iowa, No. 11 Cornell, No. 12 Iowa State, No. 14 South Dakota State, No. 15 Stanford, No. 18 west Virginia, No. 23 Oregon State, No. 25 Arizona State.
· Over 130 ranked wrestlers are registered to compete this weekend.
· Navy is the only service academy that will be competing at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational this year.
Other Mids in Action
Coach Kolat will send 15 wrestlers to compete in Patriot Open on Sunday at the George Mason Field House on the campus of George Mason in Fairfax, Va. The tournament is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
