BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Navy track and field teams earned three of the six Patriot League Weekly Awards following the final meet before the indoor conference championships, the league announced Tuesday afternoon.

Joshua Boamah received the men's field athlete-of-the-week accolade for the sixth-consecutive week and seventh time this season. The senior posted his second top-10 shot put distance of the 2023-24 campaign last Friday at the Navy Select. He recorded a winning throw of 18.08m (59' 4"), which ranks ninth in program history. Additionally, Boamah claimed first place in the weight throw with an IC4A qualifying mark of 20.14m (66' 1").Â

Ellie Abraham became the third mid to be named the women's track athlete of the week this season. She won the award for the second time in her career after a record-breaking performance in the 1,000m. Abraham competed in the event for the first time in 364 days and set a new school record with a winning time of 2:47.51. Her finish beat the previous Navy record set by Meghan Harvey (2:47.89) in 2016 by .38 seconds. The Brookings, S.D., native's effort currently ranks second in the Patriot League.

Sophia Richter garnered the women's rookie-of-the-week honor for the second time this season. The freshman clocked in the fastest 200m time in her career at 24.77 to finish in second place. Her ECAC qualifying time ranks first amongst freshmen and fifth overall in the conference.

The Mids will head to Boston, Mass., to compete in the Patriot League Indoor Championships, hosted by Boston University, this Saturday and Sunday. The championships are scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. on both days.
