Taylor Repeats as Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year for Women’s Outdoor Track and Field

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Annie Taylor has been selected as the Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year for the outdoor track and field season for the second year in a row, the league announced Thursday. She is one of eight Midshipmen to earn all-academic team honors.

To be eligible for the team, student-athletes must have attained at least a 3.20 cumulative grade-point average at the school and be a starter or key player in his/her sport. Freshmen and students in their first academic year at their school are not eligible for the accolade.

Each team consists of 21 honorees. Navy placed a league-best five athletes on the men's team and finished in a tie for the second-most selections on the women's team with three.

Taylor is one of five Midshipmen to receive the women's outdoor scholar athlete-of-the-year award and just the second to win it two years in a row. Kirsten Andrews claimed the honor in 2006 and 2007.
