Navy Men’s Lacrosse Trio Garners Patriot League Weekly Awards

ANNAPOLIS, Md. —  Navy lacrosse standouts Dan Daly (Sr / Wayne, N.J.), AJ Marsh (Sr / D / Reisterstown, Md.) and Mac Haley (Sr / A / Shady Side, Md.) were among this week's Patriot League players of the week following their performances in victories over #11/10 Penn State and VMI. Daly, who was named the Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week, Haley, who was named the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week and Marsh, who earned Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week honors, were joined by Holy Cross' Aedan Cassidy (rookie) and Lafayette's Nick Faccone (faceoff specialist).

This is the third time Daly has been named the Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week and first since April 7, 2025, after defeating Lafayette in the regular season. He is among nine different Navy goalkeepers who have earned the award with all nine earning it multiple times over their career.

Daly put together a gritty performance against #11/10 Penn State, answering the call after losing his starting job in the middle of the week against VMI (had started 33-consecutive games dating back to his sophomore year). Daly, who played 10 minutes in the fourth quarter of Navy's win over VMI, was inserted back in the starting lineup against the Nittany Lions where he spearheaded a defensive effort that held Penn State to its fewest goals since its NCAA Tournament loss to Georgetown last spring and well under its 14.67 scoring average this year. Daly made 3 of his 10 saves in the fourth quarter, holding the Nittany Lions to just a pair of goals in the final frame.

As the veteran member of the defense, Marsh also played a pivotal role in Navy holding Penn State to 11 goals. Navy threw multiple defensive fronts at Penn State throughout the game, but it was Marsh who matched up against reigning Big Ten Rookie of the Year and fellow Tewaaraton Award Watch List member Hunter Aquino. The All-American attackman came into the game averaging 4.33 points per game and 3.33 goals per game, but Navy held him to an extra-man goal, an assist and forced him into a pair of turnovers.

Marsh recorded 7 ground balls and 3 caused turnovers in the two games last week and in doing so moved into a tie for 16th on Navy's all-time caused turnovers list alongside Nik Mullen (2011-14) with 26.

Marsh is a two-time recipient of the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week award, last winning it on March 3, 2025, following the Mids upset over Boston U. in the conference opener.

Haley had one of the best weeks of his career, producing 12 points on 6 goals and 6 assists, while becoming the 39th player in program history to reach the century mark in the scoring column for a career and also becoming the 20th player in school history to reach 50-career assists.

The four-year starter opened the week by tallying a career-high 7 points on 2 goals and 5 assists in the win over VMI. He is the first Navy player with 7 points since Xavier Arline's 7 points (3G, 4A) against Hofstra in 2023, while his 5 assists are the most since Christian Daniel dealt out 5 against Loyola in 2021. He went on to score a career-high 4 goals and dealt out an assist in the Mids' win over #11/10 Penn State. He scored the Mids' final 3 goals of the game, including the game-tying and game-winning goals.

Haley, who leads Navy with 19 points (11G, 8A) this season, is Navy's first player to garner Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week recognition since Max Hewitt on March 21, 2022, when he scored the game-winning goal against #18 Johns Hopkins. This is Haley's first conference honor since being named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week on Feb. 27, 2023.

After enjoying a pair of home games last week, Navy will be back on the road Saturday when it travels to Boston, Mass. to face the Terriers (2-2) in the Patriot League opener. The game is slated for a 12:00 pm faceoff at Nickerson Field and will be streamed live on ESPN+. Additionally, WNAV 1430 AM will carry the game live with Joe Miller on the call.
