Mids Return Home for the First Time Since Nov. 18

The eighth-ranked Navy squash team (11-2) will play three of its final four matches of the regular season at home, including Saturday's match against No. 21 Williams. Action is slated to begin at 11:00 am at the Halsey Field House International Squash Courts.

Admission is free to all Navy squash matches. A reminder to fans planning on attending the match, vehicular access to the Naval Academy is limited to those with a Department of Defense identification card. It is suggested that fans park downtown and walk through the main gate. Please note that a government issued identification card must be carried and presented at the gate.

More on the Mids
• Navy is coming off a tough 7-2 loss to No. 14 George Washington on Wednesday evening in what was the Mids' first match since Dec. 1. Senior Jamie Kjorlien and rookie Ryan York picked up wins for Navy, while senior team captain Senen Ubina and sophomore Jack Lentz dropped five-game heartbreakers.
• The Mids opened the year with an 11-1 record, winning its first 11 matches before dropping an 8-1 decision to now sixth-ranked Dartmouth on Dec. 1.
• For the first time this season, junior Michael Kacergis found himself with an "L" next to his name. Kacergis was Navy's lone undefeated player among the nine-man ladder going into the George Washington match, but was tripped up by by Salim Khan in four games. Kacergis owns a remarkable 11-1 record.
• While Kacergis stands atop the wins leader board, Ben Korn and Jack Lentz are just a win behind with 10. Senen Ubina, meanwhile, will be looking for his 10th win of the season on Saturday as he owns a 9-3 record.
• Senen Ubina, Dylan Sweeney and Jamie Kjorlien continue to move up among Navy's all-time winningest players. Ubina is 11th on the list and one of just 11 players in program history with 70 or more career wins (71-28). Sweeney is tied for 15th with a 66-27 record, while Kjorlien is 19th with a 63-28 mark.

• Under the direction of 17th-year head coach Zafi Levy, Williams heads into the weekend with a 6-5 record.
•The Ephs have played five of their 11 matches since the holiday break, dropping their first two against Middlebury and Dartmouth and then answering with three straight wins over Bowdoin, Bates and Colby. Williams will play at Franklin & Marshall on Friday evening (5:00 pm) before making the trip to Annapolis on Saturday morning.
 
The Series
• Saturday's match will mark the 58th meeting between Navy and Williams in a series that began in 1952.
• The Mids own a 35-22 series advantage, including a 7-3 mark in matches played against the Ephs in Annapolis.
• The Ephs won 12 in a row against the Mids from November of 1993 to December of 2011, however, Navy has won four of the last five including each of the last three (5-4 at Williams in 2016, 7-2 in Annapolis in 2017, 7-2 at Williams in 2018).

• Navy will play host to 16th-ranked Cornell a week from Sunday (Jan. 27) at the Halsey Field House International Squash Courts. Action is set for a 12-Noon start.
• Navy holds s slight 17-16 edge in the series against the Big Red which dates back to 1957.
• Cornell defeated Navy, 6-3, a year ago during the regular season, while the Mids bounced back to beat the Big Red, 5-4, at the CSA Team Championship.
